Point taken

Spurs took a point yesterday but one feels it should have been all three as once again we failed to take our first half domination and turn it into goals. Villa fans will look towards a strong end but by then not only should the game have been over and done with we still should have had 11 men as the ref made another blunder giving a penalty and sending off Davenport when the Villa player had fallen over. The ref was generally shocking missing poor challenges from both sides and his linesman needs an offside lesson as Defoe was clearly no where near offside when put through one on one with 5 minutes to go.

Defoe looked very sharp today and I hope it continues in Europe on Thursday and then The Bingo club comes along on the Sunday. We owe the Canning Town Sports and Social club one and I hope we make in seven straight defeats for the cockneys come 5pm on Sunday. In fact a win is a must as we are now 6 points behind the european places and we have to start making ground now if we are to catch them.

Comparing the same fixtures with last season we can see that we are already 6 points worse off so we have to make these up somewhere else. Wins at the scum and against the Russian Mafia will do or anywhere else where we did not pick up points last season but it has to start happening now. However I saw enough today to say that our season is only going to get better. Lennon has returned and Zokora looks better and better. Chimbonda is our best right back since Carr and Benny Boy is doing very well over on the left. Defoe looked fit and keen. Berbatov needs more time and we need to pass the ball to his feet but you can see he is a quality player.

COYS!

Bitter disappointment, I was so sure we would hold on.Guess the reason be, we do'nt usually score more than that one goal. It's seldom enough.C.O.Y.S.

please with the result - but concerned that we still cannot score - saying that villa have had good results of late at chelscum and Arse so before the game we all would have been quiet happy with the draw - we need to start winning - starting thursday - i think we could start a winning streak now - confidence will come back now that lennon and others become fitter - with steed to come in soon 2 - cant wait for that as steed is the bollox. think spurs fans withh be surprised how could he is - COYS ! ! ! ! ! ! wheres all the moanin wankers now! !! probably doing drugs with a tear ass

i wasnt at the game, but what i read of the reports and seeing the 10 minutes on match of the day, we really have nothing to worry about this season.

murphy is getting a decent run and his performances are now showing why we bought him. the penalty and red card was a joke - the villa player stood on the ball!!!

defoe looks a reborn player. chasing lost causes and being selfish as great strikers do.

robbo showed why he really is englands No1. benny had probably his best game? same for davenport?

just need to start converting the numerous chances - our time will come.

the return of the boy lennon was a big plus, just needs match fitness now - expect him to start on the bench in turkey.

generally, i think big disappoint in the final result yesterday because we seemed to dominate most of the game against a rejuvenated team in their own back yard. lets not forget they have drawn away to scum and chelski already this season and 3 wins in 3 before yesterday at home.

lots of positives with more quality players still to come back.

I think things are looking better now. Two wins and a draw is good for morale after a bad start. My big concern is that King seems to be turning a bit injury prone, and Dawson keeps getting head injuries. Davenport is not top standard and Gardner is ok sometimes. When Dawson and King are both fit we are very strong at the back. It is a concern at the monent though that neither seem to be fit much.

i wouldnt be too worried about dawson, if someone wacks you in the head theres not a lot you can do about it. am worried about ledley though, after his performance for england last saturday i thought he was going to cement his place in the side, but he got injured and let rio (who is half the player king is) back in. with benny, ledley, dawson and chimbonda all fit we have an awesome defense. it wont be long before we batter someone, have a feeling its going to be the spammers. coys!

Give Sir Alex a call and let's offload King. He is becoming a Woodgate and we just cannot cover for him. His absence at the end of last season cost us a Champions League spot. We should take another £18 million and buy Curtis Davies plus a.n.other.

Also Defoe may have run around a little more constructively yesterday but where are the goals? That is what he is there for.

Finally, why is it that we always concede these great long range goals? Three so far this season and a couple last season. That is not bad luck that is bad coaching; a failure to defend as a team and a failure to shut people down properly.

Well...the mini unbeaten run preserved, although its a sign of the very bad start to the season when we are celebrating 3 game unbeaten runs!.

However with Westham and Watford games next up in the prem, we'll hopefully extend this to 5 unbeaten (before the Chelsea game), with preferably those next 2 games being wins to really put us in striking distance of Uefa cup positions again. I know there is a long way to go, but we cannot leave it to late or else we will end up mid-table mediocraty again.

Also positive that creativity was a little better Saturday and we gave a good account of ourselves in what has traditionally been a bogey fixture. Good to see more squad rotation in action lately, though be it because of injuries, suppose thats what big squads are for.

One big concern is why the hell are our strikers not finishing? Before the season started I was so optimistic with having 4 proven strikers each one with a slightly different skill set. Thought this would be an attack to rival anyones bar Chelsea. They are not even scoring for their countries anymore either. Im Sure its just a confidence thing though as good players do not turn bad over night.

But there are good signs of sure progression (even though it has been slow coming)that the team are finally getting more used to the new players. With this there are also signs of a more resolute team spirit with players literally puuting their heads and noses on the block!. I especially love Zokora's "I have a great deal of respect for this Club and the fans. I want them to remember me as a great player"...superb!, great attitude, absolutely loving the bloke...COYS!!!

My 3 worries have been covered here;

1. King's injuries......we need a experienced centre half who can come in when needed and take over.

2. No goals from the strikers.....can't always blame bad service.

3. Long range goals........I'm going to see most of the Goal Of The Season competition at the end of the season with Spurs having the most appearances. Everyone with half a shot from distance will be trying their luck.

Things are getting better though.

Good luck for thursday!

Dorian Dervite has been left out of the reserves game, i dare say he will be bought in as cover for thursday. I have heard he has had some impressive displays and scored a couple of goals so he can show the boys up front where the goal is!!

Although saying that he could be injured so please ignor

AGREE WITH KNOB JOCKEY.

KING IS TOO INJURY PRONE AND SHOULD BE SOLD WHILE HE STILL HAS VALUE.

STRIKERS ARE STILL POOR SPECIALLY BERBATOV ... WHAT A WASTE OF CASH.

STILL NO AWAY GOALS IS EMBARRASSING.

DEFENCE LOOKED LEAKY AND I AGREE WITH ANON 3,13 PM.
THAT ALL PLAYERS WILL FANCY A LONG RANGE SHOT AGAINST THE OUR ROBO.

GHALY JENAS LOOKED BETTER AT VILLA AND DAWSON WAS A HERO.

WORRIED THAT TOO MANY GAMES NOW ARE GONNA WEAKEN OUR ALREADY THIN SQUAD.

BESIKTAS IS A BANANA SKIN .

THAY MAY BE POOR BUT THE CROWD WILL BE A 12TH MAN FOR EM.

MORE CONCERNED WITH BEATING THE SPAMMERS.

ARSE ARE DISSAPEARING OVER THE HILL AND ARE IN GREAT FORM.

WISH JOL HAD THE ABILITY TO UNCOVER SOME OF THEIR GEMS.

improvements all round but some worrying things for me...

Midfield STILL does not pick itself. not sure who are the best four. i think on current form left to right murphy, big tom, zak and lennon would do well. front two do not pick them selves, not sure who is best combo. defoe may have been more lively but he aint scoring, and he dont pass to berby. what good is that!

Try Mido/Keane and Berby. Our strikers must combine, and Jol cant get Defoe to either pass or start scoring then why play him? They must work together as none of them are that good to be prolific goal scorers without support!

if we do not start finding that scoring touch soon - then we will be in trouble!

King? England? Bollocks!

Don't want him anywhere near that bland nomark of a manager or his less than the sum of its parts england team. Hope the numpty keeps the 'pick the usual favourites' campaign going thoughout his reign. Don't want Ledley risking injury playing 2nd fiddle to the posing ponce and his 'not quite as consistant as his reputation suggests' mate. england aren't worth a toss due to the shit for brains and spineless FA. Leave Ledders out of it and wait for a man with balls to be given the job.

Now, lets grill those turkey burgers and chomp on the west hamsandwich with hot mustard. LETS KICKSTART THIS BLEEDING CAMPAIGN FOR FUCKS SAKE!

...and i see that davenport has had his red card rescinded against villa - never was a foul, penalty or sending off. ifs and buts i know, but maybe we would have not needed to hang on and instead, played out a 1-0 victory? another viewpoint is it made up for zokoras blatant dive ?

they say your luck evens out over a season, lets hope so.

Spurs first. We pay his wages and he's wasted in a team with 'that' manager anyway.
