Paint

Spurs have been like watching paint dry and Fulham look even worse. We are currently too narrow especially when Jenas drifts into the middle although he has put in a couple of good crosses to go with a couple of dreadful ones. It can only get better.

Can't be worse, i have watche the game , and i can say that Jol must go now!
Somebody should be responsible for this grotesque start of Premiership.
1 x 2 Mansion ?? Who know ?? X was 3.55 .
Mido isn't our solution , signing an injured player is insane , Europe ???? WTF? Slavia is very very weak team , i have watched them last year in Europe.
We played beautiful today , but generally there is no point to accept more exuses from Jolly.

Too right, this game was about as interesting as watching paint dry. I spent the majority of the game reading the Sunday papers.

When are we going to sort ourselves out? All that money spent in the summer for what?

we look piss poor if we continue like this we will be bottom 4 rather then top 4.

Again Jol has fucked up Lennon is injured but wheres routledge at Fulham so we keep playing that useless fuck Jen Ass.

Martin had the window to sort it out 4 more games like that and Jol can fuck off.

We are gonna get fucked by Liverfool.

Sorry to be smug, but i have to point out that I told everyone so...opnly to be called a gooner!..Jol is not a good manager, he combines the negative philsophies of Graham with the ineptitude of Gross.

So looks like 3-4 points after 6 games, bottom 3/4. And whose fault is it, JOL.

How many midfielders has he bought in, how much has he spent? And I cant see anything copnstructive being built.

lets not pretend Jol is a genius because for ONE season we were the best of the midtable also rans.... Lets not forget we flopped in the cups and tamely gave away fourth to Arsenal - how many times did we have a chance to open a gap and fuck it up against rubbish teams?

Prague were USELESS and we struggled to a 1-0 win..but yet it is heralded as some sort of great victory against the odds...

Jol is a poor manager and its about time we stopped excusing him.

First off - 5:14 - Zokora is NOT Atouba. He's a world class defensive midfield general who is adapting to a new league, new teamates and a new country! Jesus, he has been one of the better Spurs so far. (I will agree that Murphy's best days are behind him - but Jol had to at least give him a start before casting him off)

Next - 5:26 - You're a goof! Our first win in Europe in ages, and you're pissed about it?

And - 6:12 - I'm sick of Jol-haters saying he should have forseen Lennon's injury before loaning out the Rout. Is he supposed to predict the future? Wayne wasn't gonna play, and he did what was necessary. It's just bad luck.

Finally - 6:48 - That comment about rather watching the Arse is simply blasphemous! You should be ashamed to call yourself a Spurs supporter.

COYS - Yids 4-ever!!

Our Line-up against Fulham: Robinson, Chimbonda, Dawson, King, Assou-Ekotto, Jenas, Murphy (Davids, 79), Zokora, Tainio (Defoe, 69), Keane, Mido. Subs unused: Cerny, Lee, Huddlestone.

Our back four was good today and looks like the real deal (shame we did not have Chimbonda and Assou-Ekotto last season – we would have made the top four + Champions league).

But our problem with not being able to score goals today stems from having a poor midfield (Taiano, Murphy, Zoroka, Jenas) + we should never have loaned Routlege to Fulham. After all, its hardly rocket science to retain the only other right sided winger at the club!! Jol revealed the other day after all the criticism received about loaning Routledge out - is that we had to loan him to Fulham in order to buy an injured Malbranque, but we cannot recall Routledge back from the season long loan until January!! Bad management, in my view!!

Jenas is not really a right sided winger and it shows. And, Tainio has fitness problems, in that he cannot be effective for two games running. He needed to be subbed-off for Davids around the 53 minute!!, but Jol waited until nearly 70 minutes, and brought on defoe – mistake in my view. Like for like subs please!! Murphy has hardly played and did not gel with Zokora. However, Zokora is getting better but he must improve his passing, and do more surging forward runs.

No wonder, Keane and Mido, received virtually no service from midfield. But until Jol sorts out our midfield our strikers will receive a poor service from them, which means that we will struggle to score goals. This can only result in a mid-table team. Our worst start for 11 years continues!!!

Never mind, the U18's lost 4-0 at home to Chelsea U-18's the other day so the future looks bright.
Our back 5 now look Champions League class but the rest look Championship material. I keep seeing references to our 4 world-class strikers...will someone tell me who they are? As for mid-field, well we sold that to ManU so what do you expect.
I see MJ is saying that we should score more goals and be more creative in mid-field, well hello MJ....isn't that your job, showing the lads how to do this?
This critiscism of MJ is not just about this season, it is also about the string of poor results last season and the lucky wins we didn't deserve that pushed us into a false position. This season is just a continuation. MJ has to prve that he can organise a winning team by Christmas or go the way of all the other turkeys.
Finally, 7:37...great choice of words and method of settling disagreements...hope you get your wish with someone who responds in kind

Only read the first few postsetc, our problem is we have no creativeness and no width, so no chance of scorin goals?!

we miss carricks vision and passing BIG time, whatever ne of you say. times wen chimbonda / benny were out free on the wings and a quick long pass woudl have switched hte play nicely, but no, it goes ot the midfield, bk to king, out wide, or Centre bk, ,midfield, then out wide, we're just too slow!!!

And to b honest, why is everyone moaning about lennon. he only REALLY surfaced halfway thru last season. jol was doing just fine when lennon was still a fringe / bench player, so why are we so short on ideas now?! are we that totally reliant on lennon runnin / beating a man/ creating a chance that we can't do neting else?!

still, positives - benny out on the left looked good 2day, hes not the finished article but he has skills and a bit of pace?! chimbonda was good, why doesnt he EVER go to the byline tho?! he crosses from aroudn where the edge of hte box would be, even if theres no one in front of him?! shurely reachin the touchline would be better...

but yea, as people keep saying, we need some ideas and we need em quick.

couldnt believe how quiet park lane was today?! fulhams 500 or so were louder than us pretty much all game, we need to ghet behind the fucking team and show some support!!!

COME ON TOTTENHAM.

i dont think we'll do better than last year and i do think jol has to sort it out quick as it will quickly become a crisis.

the things hes saying aren;t really inspiring which is worrying.

i hope we win a few games on the bounce now.............can't see it

In these times of limited chances, we need our 28 million strikeforce to start sticking the ball in the net. Even without Berbatov last season, any of Mido, Keane or Defoe would put away at least 1 or 2 per game, we never won by any big scores but they would finish decisive chances that nicked us tough games. Ironic, we solve our defensive vulnerability and now develop a scoring problem! All round this year other prem games are showing games mostly won by low scores. The prem is getting defensively tougher, so putting away limited chances makes all the difference. Even liverpool are finding it difficult despite having Kuyt, Bellamy, Crouch (and Fowler). Ok lack of creativity is a big part of that, but look at the last game against Manu for eg. Mido and Defoe missed 2 point blank headers. You will not get many of these chances in the prem, so when they come along you have to finish em. Can only put it down to lack of confidence through the whole team. Im sure it will come, maybe too late for a champs league place, but hopefully will come in time for at least another uefa place and a good crack at winning the cup itself, as good teams do not turn bad overnight. And I dont buy that rubbish that we were bad all last season. Obviously if we had played brilliant every game as some people say we didn't then we would have finished 1st! but we didn't. What we did do is finish as a respectable 5th best team in the toughest league in the world, the league table does not lie fellas. Ok right now we are the 16th best team in the prem, but remember form is temporary and there is still a lot of time for improvement. Outside of last seasons top 4 I still do not see any better squads than us. And lets be brutally honest here, if we could at least qualify for Europe again this season, that will be twice in a row after not having qualified at all for how long?!...that will still represent progress fellas. With all the changes in the team, this is looking like a transitional season...I'm afraid we may be ready to challenge for a champions league spot only next season AT THE VERY EARLIEST!!!if at all with this current team. sorry fellas...just the reality of things. But may need Jol to pull off signing a couple of genuine world class creative players until then though...come on Jol and Commoli where's your Dutch and French contacts!?...and I dont mean that washed up PAST legend Edgar Davids!...why aren't we signing the Van Der Vaarts, Schneiders, Riberys or Ben Arfas of this world???

You know things a bad, when on Monday morning not one of the TV stations even mentioned us!!!

Jol must quickly resolve who should play in midfield, which is not helped with the Lennon injury + the stupid decision to loan Routlegde to Fulham in order to sign Malbranque. Routlegede is the only other right side winger that we have!! Jenas is not a right sided winger and it shows.

Tainio, keeps showing us that he has fitness problems in that he cannot remain fit for two games in a row. This means that we need to use Zigler as back up.

We should use Davids or Huddlestone as the defensive midfielder, and Zokora as the attacking midfielder.

We must, as Jol says, gel quickly. And we must start to score some goals. Otherwise back to the bad old days of being a mid table team. Unacceptable considering the amount of money spent.

WHY DO THE SCUM GET IN 3 CLASS DEFENDERS FOR PEANUTS AND WE SPEND MILLIONS ON AVERAGE PLAYERS.

We could not even score in a brothel, even if we tried!!!

Defence is looking good, midfield is shite. Up front badly needs service from a shite midfield.

Jenas is not a winger. Tanio is a liability because he never puts in consistent performaces because of fitness problems. Murphy has hardly played and is a faded player. David's cannot play 90 mins. Zorkora is really the only one worth keeping in the midfield line up. Beggars belief that we loaned out Lennon's only understudy (Routlegde) to Fulham.

Jol seems afraid to use Huddelstone, and Zigler. But until we sort out the shite midfield, I can't see us winning any other games. Bottom three looks a certainty!! Unacceptable!!

Why are there so many prats on this blog posting rubbish in an effort to wind up the real Spurs fans?

Look, any idiot can see Spurs are struggling to score. Injuries have taken a few key players out, forcing Jol to shuffle the deck. This job has been made ever more difficult with the precious little time he's had to bed in his new signings (due to internationals, etc).

Look, despite the loss of Carrick, chances ARE being created by the midfield, and the goals will come. Any fool can see that players are playing out of position (Jenas), playing hurt (Tainio?), and playing too much too soon (Mido). As 4 the strikers, Keane and Defoe will come good, but are unfortunately going through a bad spell early on. Yet, who dares to deny they are both quality strikers? Any Prem team would jump at the chance to sign either of them!

The positives are the defence, the improvements at full back, and the class of Zokora, who is adjusting well to his new teamates & new surroundings.

The negatives (aside from injuries) are perhaps Davids' age, Murphy's downslide, Reto & Hud's inexperience, and Jenas' inconsistency... fair enough. But to question Jol's managerial acumen is absurd. It's way too early for that -- and no Scum on a wind-up mission will get a true Yid to play that game, ever.
