"It is better to fail aiming high than to
succeed aiming low. And we of Spurs have
set our sights very high, so high in fact that
even failure will have in it an echo of glory."
Bill Nicholson. SPURS
If MC doesn't want to be here, he doesn't want to be here... but we're getting a boatload of cash from Manure to ease our pains, and they're getting a player who will have little impact on their system of play.
im delighted, zokora is capable of replacing carrick and we will get loads of cash to reinvest in the team. we still need a new left winger (ribery perhaps).
right, heres my take on this. carrick is an excellent player, who has not yet reached his peak. with zokora playing alongside him, (lets face it, davids will not last a full season if he stays), i think we will see an even improved player next season. hes got the skill, but i really dont think an anchor role suits him. remember the dribble at the library? this is the real carrick.
with lennon on the right and someone, anyone, on the left giving proper width, again not davids who drifts inside too much, this could be a formidable 1st choice midfield with the likes of jenas, tainio, huddlestone, murphy, ghaly etc to back them up, squad rotation etc.
with any 2 from defoe, keane, berbatov and 1 to come i reckon, our strikers are set to convert a hatful of goals !
dawson, king, robbo at the core, with the obvious full backs and probably more to come, i can see real competition for places and a great season approaching.
we MUST aim high, improvement again, which means a top 4 finish. we are a cash rich club and until someone offers ridiculous money for carrick, he is more than welcome at our club - not once have i heard him say he wants to leave - hes been concentrating on the world cup for gods sake.
so to all those doubters and championship manager players, get off carricks case and keep faith with the jolly man !
I don't want Carrick to go for any sum of money.B'cos you never know what you can get from a replacement no matter how cheap or expensive they are.We have built positively and it is bad to dismantle a vital clog in our slowly improving squad.Remember Gascoigne and Waddle ?
I can see the potential in the Carrick and Zakoro pairing. It is potentially awesome.Justs like the one few years back with the gooners of Viera and Petit.
We must be challenging the top 4 next season anything less is a disappointment. Its time to remove the deadwoods but not meddling with the spine.
I won't seLL Carrick for 50mil if I have my way. What can you buy with 50mil ? 10 Eric Djemba Djemba ? Those who think we can get away with the dosh and buy a ready replacement need to think again.Fernado Torres didn't want to come in Jan despite us putting up the highest bid, b'cos we are not in CL.
Very excited about the Zokora signing, he looked the business the WC against good opposition. He seems to have genuine pace too which is superb. I actually think him or Carrick could play defensive or attacking midfield, as they both have flair and creativity (Carrick with his vision, Zokora with his pace and power). Stick Lennon on the right to terrify defences again this year and one other on the left (anybody seen this Ghaly bloke yet??? Can he play there? Reid...No, and really don't like Jenas) and we have a solid looking midfield with some creativity, which we lacked at times over the last couple of seasons.
On a totally different note, anybody know the launch date for the new home shirt?
Trying to replace Carrick is like telling Ferrari to replace M Schumacher.Ok, its a exaggeration but you get my point.
You don't change a correct formula or think that you can replace parts of the engine and expect the performance to remain the same.Maybe the preformance will remain the same or be better but there are risks involved.
Its time to built on last season success. The engine is flying and a change of "driver" may stall all the progress earned so far.Carrick was the "driver" last season and we need to supplement him by buying better players which Zokora is.
Thats why Jol says he cannot do without Carrick and thats why Ferrari still wants M schumacher.
Try telling Ferrari to get a hatful of dosh and exchange drivers with the benetton team.Over their dead body.
Just slightly off the subject, but with the news that all greek teams are being chucked out of europe and possibly the italians chucked as well, there wont be anyone left! I vote they promote 5th place from both England and Spain!

Hifellow yids
Worried about Zokoras discipline. 8 red cards and 20 yellows in last 2 seasons.
may be ok but rather we kept our tradition ogf buying english. Cant let carrick go. he is so important now edgar is off.

i really hope carrick stays, him and zokora in midfield will be great, if he goes it might give huddlestone a chance.

Have you all forgotten Reto Ziegler? Carrick and Zokora in central midfield with Ziegler on the left and Lennon on the right!!!
If Carrick goes, then fuck him! Who would want to go to manure when we have such exciting prospects ahead.
Sell off fatty Reid, get rid of Ting tong at left back for what he was worth. Another striker please and we will kick the shit out of the gooners!!!!
Come on you Spurs!!!
