Reid sold to Charlton

Andy Reid has been flogged to Charlton. The fee is undisclosed but is unlikely to be that close to what we paid for him. In fact it looks as though he was a chuck in by Forest in the Dawson deal and we took him just in case he turned out to be good. However he didn't. He can shoot but lacked pace for the Premiership even though we were regularly assured by the Spurs managenemt that "he was the fittest player" at the club. Lets hope not.

Anyhow, The Shelf wishes him every sucess as Charlton. Does this now mean we have a left winger lined up? Who knows! We have sold players in the past with no replacement in mind. Kanoute is the latest example of poor forward planning and Reid was one of only two left footers at the club - him and Ziegler so it will be interesting to watch the transfer market in the next 2 weeks.

COYS!

wud love either sjneider or pedersen at spurs, but i think both have just signed contracts, although a big enough bid should tempt blackbum or ajax!!

Davids is left footed and so is Benoit Assou-Ekotto. I do think we are lacking on the left though. We do have players that can fill in on the left, but would be good to get Petrov. Reckon Jol has a plan.

Interesting sale, maybe MJ is confident that we have a good chance of 4th spot using ghaly, tainio or zeigler who i beleive will have improved for being loaned out.
Perhaps they are thinking of retaining the £20m or so we have in the bank to attract gigger names if we acheive CL footy next year. I am sure there will be another signing before 31/8. Maybe Ayala or Petrov. Ghaly i beleive will emerge as an excellent player as the season progresses.

Sorry. Not Barry. We missed the boat with Pederson. Sjneider is a fair shout. Surely there must be others available? We seem to be constantly linked with the same players?!?
