Spurs cruise through.

Spurs dared their way past Milton Keynes 5 0. Keane finished the scoring after Mido and Defoe had both scored twice. Defoe should have had a hat trick and had 3 occasions to do so. Nevertheless he had a good game and I hope he starts against Watford on Saturday. And we did not get wet! COYS!

Not trying to put a damper on things.More ominous was the dumping out of Bolton and Portsmorth.

This 2 teams are challenging the 4th CL spot.Just like we did last year, they went out of the Carling cup at the 1st round. Now both of them have less distractions than us.Bolton and Portmouth don' thave european games remember.

I don't know about you guys, I rather we are challenging the 4th CL spot (which I think is still feasible) than winning some mickey mouse cup.

Good points. However, look on the positive side; at least we won't have to play pompey or bolton if we get past port vale. I think we have a stronger squad than both those sides also and with the number of games coming up in the PL they will both end up mid table i believe.

Let's be optimistic and enjoy the moment

Anon 12.22pm.

Thanks for seeing my points.Yes we have a stronger squad than both. But only just marginally.

I'm a spurs fan through and through but what I'm going to say is not going to please many.

Liverpool have the incomparable stevie G to inspire them.Ars***l have Henry. The top 4 have squads that will pull them through a sticky run which was the case last season for both Arsenal and Liverpool. Both went on a winning run which in all honesty its a habit we are trying to acquire.

We have a talented squad which are in the process of maturing and we can only hope we don't bite off more than we can chew(sorry for the pun).

Yes, still I enjoy us winning be it doncaster Utd or manchester utd.

COYS everyone !

The league cup is great for giving the less often played players a run out and giving the forwards a chance at target practice. I just hope Jol sticks with the same players even if we make it to the final.

I cannot bear the constant reference to us being called the yids.
i am jewish and have been a spurs fan for 40 years. I love the club but hate this horrible label which is so anti semitic and a stain on our great club,

Arsenal have as many jewish fans as us and have never refered to themselves by these names.

Please stop now

Re: 11.27pm

I think maybe you're being oversensitive and unreasonable. The term 'Yid' is simply a shortening of the word Yiddisher which to my knowledge and correct me if I'm wrong, has never been a derogatory term. Would you feel it wrong to describe a Britisher as a 'Brit'? Whilst in the US and Oz, I was often referred to as a Brit and it didn't bother me one jot. Why would it? I AM a Brit. And a Yiddisher is a Yid. A Paki is also a Pakistani (I went to school with several Pakistanis who weren't bothered by the term at all) and a Japanese is a Jap. They're all just shortenings of a longer nationally descriptive word.

None of these terms is equivalent to say; nigger, wog, chink, frog, dago, wap, towel-head, darkie or coon. All of which are clearly derogatory.

There are plenty of genuine reasons to become upset at the behaviour of others. Is there really a need to add to them unnecessarily.

Isn't yiddo like Gyppo? If someone takes offence then they are within their rights to complain. I agree that the term is not anti semitic used in it's context regarding THFC. After all, we are one of the most cosmopolitan clubs in the country. Anyone remember the Falklands and the pain we had over Ardilles?

I was always called a yid , although I am not (well, just a little bit and so is my wife!) for following spurs but very rarely met a jewish spurs fan. I always seemed to meet jewish arsenal fans! My point is ; the term yid comes more from THFC folklore and it's use should be seen as ironic rather than nasty.

You knew all this anyway!!!

Love to all spurs fan from all races, religons and nations.
