Transfer gossip and Semi final allocations
Spurs have still not made any noises about the allocation for the semi final matches against the scum and wild rumors are going all around the internet. In theory both clubs are entitled to 15% of each others grounds which would see around 5400 pikes at WHL with 9,000 yids tearing the Effeminates stadium up in the 2nd leg. However it appears the scum are being awkward and want 15% of our ground while only offering us 6,000. This should not surprise anyone as the evil goons have been screwing clubs over for years, especially us even going as far as rigging FA committes to ensure their election to the top flight, with us relegated. Remember the goons are the only club to have never earned the right to play in the top division - they got there by cheating.
Anyhow, whatever is decided by us, them and the police the respective allocations should be exaclty the same otherwise it is completly unfair. FLT and COYS members are suggesting that the old bill are worried by the thought of 9,000 Spurs fans at the scum so want to limit the numbers. That is fine as long as the percentage of the allocation is the same. We get 10% of the Immigrants and thus the scum get 10% of White Hart Lane. Expect huge uproar if the allocations don't match and if Levy has not fought his corner then expect a lot of disgruntled fans heading in his direction.
Comolli was apparently spotted at Watford today sitting with esteemed England Manager Steve McClaren. I assume he is a guest at the club which suggests the Ashley Young rumors are true. Aidy Boothroyd has claimed that a club has now made an offer of £8 million. If true, and its us, I can't help feeling we are paying over the odds for a player who has never really impressed that much. We shall see.
COYS!
33 Comments:
I agree with you on the price tag which is on Ashley Youngs head-£8m for half a season in the Premier League is way over the odds especially after the way we went about signing Chimbonda. We could easily sign Gamst Pedersen from Blackburn for that price. I can only think the bid is from the Spammers who have now become the poor mans Chelski. Any news on Taarbts(?) performance for the reserves at Norwich?
6:24 PM, January 13, 2007
Farking Woolwich nomads...
Come on Levy, show 'em what for!
And I hope the Young rumours are true because he fits our criteria exactly - young (haha! NO) English, and left footed.
COYS all the way!
6:24 PM, January 13, 2007
I don't think anybody would by Young for 8 millions...most likely 3 millions...raising slowly to 8 millions (if he earned 10 England caps...if the new buyer sold him for 16 millions)...No?
7:43 PM, January 13, 2007
ashley young is a very very talented player, still... 8m is a bit over the top. agree with that the deal should potentially be worth 8m instead of 8m upfront. no doubt though that he will give us another option and would be more than capable of starting for us week in, week out
9:38 PM, January 13, 2007
Give the scum 3,600. We cannot afford the disinfectant after a bigger allocation. £8 million for Young is silly money. Let Spammers buy him and bankrupt themselves.
10:03 PM, January 13, 2007
young would be a great signing for us if it is us the bid is from & if he'll come to us is another matter he'd be in keeping with our policy & as someone whos seen him more then once he pacey & a good finisher to would be great to see lenny & young rampaging on the wings
1:53 AM, January 14, 2007
We`ll beat you with our kids, the finest there is in Europe, HA!
Your average English core is laughable, Dawson is a clown and Jenas will make an og tomorrow..
Btw, Flopyid killed his dog!!
2:14 AM, January 14, 2007
Are you kidding, the left wing has been a problem for way too long.
Personally I don't give a flying fuck if he costs us $18 million as long as we finally get a balanced team that plays attacking footie on both sides of the pitch.
I'm sick of seeing teams put 2 markers on Lennon and get away with it.
If we had speedy attacking wingers on both flanks other sides would get stretched across the back four & leave gaps for the strikers..hey presto - its christmas time in the goals department!
COYS on the up.
4:09 AM, January 14, 2007
I saw Watford play someone the other day, but the player who stood out was a different youngster, McNamee, has a REAL left foot, bags of pace, and looked like he really enjoyed playing football.
I'm hoping thats why Comolli was there.
8:44 AM, January 14, 2007
Why are we paying GBP 8 million for an untested player? Any decent player will look good in the Watford team who are clearly nowhere near Premiership quality?
What happened to our reported pursuit of Rafael Van der Vaart, a seasoned Dutch international? Hamburg have been having an absolutely aweful season - any change of getting him for our left wing? I would rather we keep Steed Malbranque for our left wing than bring in someone untested for that price.
Also, can anyone explain what Jol sees in Tainio? I wish we would sell him to finance some decent purchases and play Zokora or Murphy. Also, why have we not sold Stalteri yet when Lee Yong Pyo can cover that position and we also have young Ifil to step in if we are very short?
8:46 AM, January 14, 2007
Young is supporting Arsenal, DO YOU WANT HIM?
11:04 AM, January 14, 2007
I gree with anonymous, McNamee does look like a genuine left winger, wheras we are told Ashley Young plays left wing, despite his presence upfront and behind teh striker. 8 million is a lot, but then again I thought 5 mill was alot for Chimbo and he's brill.
11:24 AM, January 14, 2007
Let the spammers sign young for 8mil, then buy him for 3mil after they get relegated
7:04 PM, January 14, 2007
shelfy - time for an update?
i think harry hotspur is slowly but surely stealing your crown of being the No1 unofficial spurs website - what do you reckon?
6:09 PM, January 16, 2007
ASHLEY YOUNG
DO WE WANT AN ARSE FAN IN OUR TEAM ? NO
THE ONLY REASON LARDY JOL WANTS YOUNG IS COS HE IS ENGLISH , YOUNG AND OVERPRICED.
SAME AS RICHARDS
SAME AS FERDINAND
TAKE A LEAF OUTA ARSE WINGERS BOOK
SIGN QUALITY KIDS
NOT OVERPRICED OVER RATED ENGERLAND YOOF.
THEY SIMPLY AINT GOOD ENOUGH.

If Joey Barton is avialable at 5.5m, I rather get him than Young. We have enough of bumbling youngsters with "potential".
Time to get real quality.
Sunday proved a few things.Players with potential don't win you points. If we want to acheieve anything, it's time to get players with the right mentality and that what Barton has.
Huddlestone, the new superstar of spurs ?what a laugh...He did not marked properly for Toon's first goal and drag a player to the floor in the melee.Even if Robinson had blocked that shot from Hurthington, which HE SHOULD have, it would have been a penalty.
For the 2nd goal, Huddlestone couldn't even get near Butt to stop the move from midfield.
We have been singing the praise of our youngsters but it seems Toons have the better set.
Jol is a idiot.Winning the FA cup would make him the happiest men in the world. Is he still living in the 80's?Has he consider the financial implications of playing in the CL ?Have he known why the top 4 has been occupying that position year in year out ?By wiinning the FA cup ?...wake up Jol, by playing CL football year in year out.
Whe a team cannot kick that sickening habit of losing thier nerves after going a goal up, match after match. It's the problem of the coach. To all the Jol's fan out there, stop lving in your dream world. The man who had given us the basis of "success" is Levy and not Jol.Jol had underachieved with all the backing he got.
Liverpool can worked out as a team how to recitfy their faults but Spurs can't.Therefore all credit to Rafa and no thanks to Jol.
1:12 AM, January 17, 2007
Lay off Huddlestone. He's an outstanding passer with a powerhouse physique, great set piece deliveries, top-class technique and an excellent work-rate. He has a couple of so-so games and all of a sudden you decide he's crap. Give him a break, he's 19 for fuck's sake, a star of the future for us and all you do is slate him. As for the visiting Arsenal fan on about our laughable mediocre English core – King, Lennon, Huddlestone and Defoe are all excellent players, Dawson is a strong reliable centre-half and Robinson is a good goalie having a prolonged run of poor form. Murphy and Davenport are not good enough, but they ain’t core players, they’re backup squad players like your less-than-stellar Justin Hoyte.
I agree with the bloke who doesn’t like Tainio. He’s a good worker but lightweight and often disappears, a squad player at best. Personally I think Malbranque-Zokora-Huddlestone-Lennon is a top quality midfield with bags of speed, skill and creativity. Zokora was dropped after a poor game v Liverpool, but he’s far better than Tainio in terms of strength, pace, aggression and stamina. Having seen his performances at the World Cup I still think he’ll bloom into a top player for us - he’s only been at the club six months, remember, and it takes time to settle.
I think our recent poor run of form is for a number of reasons:
1. Captain Ledley getting injured and the wholehearted but limited Davenport coming in. Look at Chelsea without Terry, losing an inspirational player means you lose points. Lennon was also out for a while.
2. Jol not changing the team enough over the Christmas period, with the lack of rest visibly taking its toll on players like Huddlestone and Dawson.
3. Robinson’s loss of form costing us stupid goals versus Newcastle (home and away).
4. Bad luck. Nobody’s going to tell me we only deserved one point out of the Liverpool, Portsmouth and Newcastle games. This will most likely even itself out before the season ends.
Over the course of a season, we are a better team than Bolton, Portsmouth, Everton and Newcastle and I for one am confident that we’ll match last season’s fifth-place finish this year.
Get things in perspective – a couple of years ago we had that wanker Pleat at the helm packing the team with shite like Poyet, Jackson, Taricco, Postiga, Gardner and Doherty. We’ve come a long way since then.

AGREE ON HUDDERS.. NOT GOOD ENUF
AGREE ON OOPS ROBINSON ... NOT GOOD ENUF
AGREE ON LARD JOL.NOT GOOD ENUF AMBITION

GET READY FOR ONE OF HIS GLORY GLORY SPEECHES WHEN WE SCRAPE THRU AGAINST THE MIGHTY CARDIFF
NUF SAID
6:07 PM, January 17, 2007
so whats your point park len ?!
7:52 PM, January 17, 2007
Dear Mr Len,
So who would be your replacement for Jol and every player you've declared not good enough?
8:01 PM, January 17, 2007
MY POINT IS THAT WITH ALL THE CASH THROWN INTO THE POT FOR JOL TO SPEND WE ARE NOT MUCH BETTER THAN WE WERE 2 YEARS AGO.
YES WE ARE BETTER WITH BERBY CHIMBO AND LENNON BUT ROBO KEANE DEFOE AND KING HAVE GONE BACKWARDS.
DAVNPORT ASSO EKOTTO GHALY ZOKS TAINIO MURPHY DAVIDS HAVE BEEN DISSAPOINTING.
AND ALL THE SUCCESS WE HAVE HAD THIS SEASON APART FROM A GLORY GLORY WIN V 10 MAN CHELSKI HAS BEEN AGAINST 2ND RATE EURO TEAMS AND 3RD RATE ENGLISH TEAMS IN THE 2 DOMESTIC CUPS.
JOL SHOULD HAVE IMPROVED OUR GOOD PLAYERS AND BOUGHT WISELY.
MORE DEFEATS THAN WINS IN THE PREM.
A NEGATIVE GOAL DIFFERENCE IN THE PREM.
AN AWFUL AWAY RECORD IN THE PREM.
HAVE WE IMPROVED THAT MUCH ?
ONLY AGAINST THE POOR TEAMS.
THINK ABOUT IT.
TAKE AWAY ALL OUR WINS V THE CRAP TEAMS . WHAT ARE WE LEFT WITH.
?
NEWCASTLE BEAT US ON SATURDAY WITH 11 FIRST TEAMERS.
BRUM HAVE JUST TANKED THEM 5.1
WHERE DOES THAT PUT US ?
CONSOLE OURSELVES WITH ANOTHER THRASHING OF A SHIT TEAM 4,0 TONIGHT
JOL COMES OUT WITH ANOTHER GLORY SPEECH.
BUT HOW MUCH HAVE WE REALLY IMPROVED ?
NOT A LOT.
WE HAVE BIG MONEY NOW TO SPEND.
JOL AINT THE MAN TO SPEND IT.
GET HIM OUT NOW
10:36 PM, January 17, 2007
ParkLen
So who is your replacement for M J ???
Think you are a bit too negative but I admit you are right about senior boys who have gone off the boil.
10:40 PM, January 17, 2007
Mr len, you failed to answer the question I put to you.
I have a second question for you: Do you by any chance equate use of capitals & spacing with intelligence & perspicacity?
Permit me to respond to one of your points: Defoe has recently come into form according to the number of goals he has scored, Keane has not played so much but when he does he looks his usual creative self and scored today, King has been out for some weeks with injury and Robbo is not the first keeper in the world to go through a bad patch. "Backwards"? That's a bit extreme isn't it? Yet again you leave me wondering what possible motive you could have for 'supporting' your team of choice in such an aggressive and unreasonable manner.
Perhaps you're just an angry person?
Best wishes, el.
1:16 AM, January 18, 2007
Rumours are that Davenport will sign for The Spammers today for a fee in the region of £3m.
'Apparently' that's why he was not included in the squad tonight as he was undergoing a medical at Upton Park.

1:25 AM, January 18, 2007
Martin Jol has a lucky season and suddenly he was the best thing since slice bread.Let me opened up your blinkered eye.
I dislike Liverpool but I have to admit Rafa do get things right. If you look at their back 4, individually the players ain't better than ours,In fact, our players have more "potential" as many like to put it.Why can't they keep a clean sheet for heaven sake.
With Liverpool, you see a systematic way of defending that was drilled into team.Who could have done it other than the coaching stuff?
Jol and Hughton are crap coaches. When we are 2-1 up againts Toons, you don't see a urgency and solidity which was tangible to protect that lead.Time after time, Toons pass the ball to Martins without fail but you don't see any changes made to cut off that supply. It's always like Russian roulette, in hope we scored that 3rd goal to kill off the opposition. With a player like Martins, you are tempting fate. You only see Jol pointing out the mistake after we conceded the 2nd goal. With Rafa he is always giving instructions. You could always see the players maintaining discipline, changing the tempo of the game and tightening the grip.
I love my spurs but I'm don't wear rose tinted glass.Jol or Jol alone would not be able to bring us to the next level.Something must change, either Jol goes or Hughton goes or both.
We spend the most money than any premiership team other than Chelsea. We should expect better.
1:57 AM, January 18, 2007
Replacement for Jol ? Don't you worry, many coaches would die to land the spurs job. Sam Allardace, O 'Neil, Redknapp or Moyes.
Guys who make hay out of straws..
Or replace Hughton who works on the tactical plans. He had been useless and he has been around without any tnagible success
2:07 AM, January 18, 2007
Dear el,if you remember clearly, keane and Defoe were PHENOMENAL when they joined us.Now they are merely excellent.Robinson was reliable when he joined us.Now, I expect problems whenever the ball is pumped into our penalty box.Guys like Lennon wherever they go will be phenomenal, so no thanks to Jol.
Carrick has raised his game since joining Man U.I think he covered more ground than he did when he was with us.Go check the optus stats.
Davis and Mendes, the so called also-rans of spurs dictates games for Portsmorth who are higher than us at the moment.Doesn't that tell u a story about Jol ?If Redkanpp can make Davis and Mendes look good, what do you think he can do with the likes of Zokora ?Do give the BS about new players settling in at spurs, Redknapp have them in loads every season.
What is the motives of supporting our team ?To see them do well of course but not by blind faith, my friend.
4:28 AM, January 18, 2007
It's difficult to respond when I get 3 replies from anonymous.
Re:1.57am
It gets boring when I have to begin a post by challenging the assumptions made by someone in theirs so I'll ignore your first sentence. The idea that the coaches who took the team to our highest position since the premiership's inception, did so due to "luck" smacks of silliness. A lucky; cup run, play-off run or few games worth of positive refereeing decisions, ok. But a lucky entire season?! Each to their own of course but I wonder how much support you have for that particular not to say peculiar notion.
I agree with some of what you infer but you and your ilk seem to love to take things to exteme. The point you make about not closing down the game when we were 2-1 up against the toon seems out of place when I remember how often - particularly last season - we were sucker-punched at the end of games precisely because we failed to get the extra goal or two while we had most of the possession and were creating most of the chances. If you really believe that we are currently good enough to be one goal up and then just back off until the end of the game, I would suggest that maybe it's you who is wearing the rose tinted spectacles. We still have some way to go before we're that strong and are able to orchestrate games with that degree of confidence, control and authority. In the mean time we still have the same infuriating inconsistancy which along with a couple of injuries and a couple of off-form players means we are 6 to 10 points behind where we might expect this team to be at this point in the season. I'm nowhere near as outraged as some of you appear to be by our situation but horses for courses.
I also like the managers you've listed especially big sam but I'm not at the point (yet) that I think Jol is failing big time or that one of the aforementioned would without question do a better job. Perhaps I've more patience? And anyway there's a long way to go before the season ends.
Re 4.28am
Love the way start with the phrase; "If you remember clearly". Thus suggesting that if I disagree with you I'm therefore failing to remember a 'fact'. Which it isn't. Keane and Defoe being PHENOMENAL is an opinion. And I don't quite agree. I'd leave that category for the likes of Klinsman, Lineker, ronaldo, van basten and Clive Allen. I agree that there are problems and that Jol needs to show that he has the ability to sort them out but for me he's doing well enough at this point not to be thrown out with the bathwater.
5:16 PM, January 18, 2007
Hi El, just to take that mystery off your mind,I'm the bloke that wrote all 3 anonymous comments.
Jol took us the highest position since Premiership ever is a fact. But he has the backing of a superb management team which includes Levy and briefly Arnesan. If you compare the teams in the premiership , that was EXPECTED of us to finish in the 5th position.Fair game to Jol, he did what was required.
But there are managers in the premiership who dollar for dollar had been more productive.Big Sam is a prime example. Its also a fact that not in one season but a few, he had CONSISTENTLY delivered.
Guys like Big SAM and Moyes seems to be able to produce team which had that ability to work hard and punch above their weight.Thats their trade mark and thats what I hope Spurs could do.
We need to punch above our weight a little more to challenge the big 4.We are the only team in the premiership who could do that now based on squad quality
Jol report card is average taking all things into account.Big SAM is above average taking all things into account. We need guys who could instil steel into the team and demonstrated that ability season in season out.Big SAM is not a one season wonder.
I agree that there should be no knee jerk action when coming to replacing coaches.Fergie is a prime example what can happen when you stick with a coach and give him to time to let him find his feet and build the team.
But we can't ignore some signs. For example that infuriating habit of throwing away leads and concentration time and again. You may blame the players but I think the coach had a big part to say.
I'm not going to dispute your other opinions for as with mine there are just merely opinions which you correctly pointed out.
3:32 AM, January 19, 2007
btw el, I'm not talking about closing down the game when we were 2-1 up against Toons.I'm talking about closing the obvious threat which was Martins. We did that brilliantly in the 1st half where Huddlestone and Tainio providing the necessary shield. In the 2nd half lacking ideas, Toons just swung the ball in Martins way when they have the chance.
Thats where we all went awry. All the discipline in the 1st half was thrown out of the window. We were great till we scored our second goal even though we seem well in control. More and more balls is reaching Martins with regular ease, you don't see that in the 1st half. When Martins scored his goal, the ball was fed to him unchallenged from midfield.
Jol/Hughton don't seemed very sound tactically sometimes. We seemed lost how to play 10 man chelsea and Blackburn. We don't seems to know how to defend a lead and more worringly learned how to keep a clean sheet despite having England No. 1.
9:20 AM, January 19, 2007
Good comments. I appear to have switched from speaking to an always angry park len to someone with whom I generally agree with aside from a few minor points. Unless you are actually a calmed down park len without the caps or moniker.
Jol certainly has something to prove as far as 'team' play, consistancy and attitude is concerned but given his results so far I'm not prepared to see him dumped just yet.
Go on the Spurs!
3:48 PM, January 20, 2007
With every match, I'm getting to be worried by the competency of Jol.
What crap comments after Fulham .To say that with Helguson send off, the spare man makes no difference to the match as the opposition still plays with 2 banks of 4 and 2 center halfs.
What absolute nonsense, if any of the top 4 managers made this kind of comments, they will be slaughtered.
The manager is the one who will make the decisions to take advantage with the spare man.
Playing long ball not our style, what absolute BS.This is a business and resulted oriented professional game and not some sunday kickabout.
Jol began to sound like a back street conman rather than a premiership manager.
Time to look out for a competent coach, Mr Levy.
