Can we make fourth?

That is the simple question. Can we make fourth place this season, or higher LOL! I don't think we can unless Comolli brings something out of the bag. Comolli is currently responsible for the unbalanced squad and investing vast sums of cash on our strongest position. We still need a left winger and a playmaking midfielder before we can realistically challenge for a Cl place in my opinion. What do you think?

I agree, and it's a shame that it's Jol that will suffer because of Commolli's apparent failure address the 'real' problem areas!

Exactly! Why is Jol under pressure when the source of our troubles is Comolli's inability to bring the right players. Comolli should be the focus of attention, not Jol!

FOURTH??? I still think we can make 2nd!
However, after the events of the last 48 hrs. or so, Iam left podering a couple of questions:
(1). Is the club's progress in danger of being ruined by the KoshaNostra as in the days of Scolar followed by Sugar? Between them they managed to preside over POTENTIALLY two of the best Spurs sides since the 60's. As THFC were about to become the dominant team in England. What did they do? Scholar got rid of Burkinshaw and Sugar got shut of Venables. It should come as no great shock then that Levy with Kemsley sneaking around in the background appear to be following the same route with BMJ. It's shoot ourselves in the foot time again!
(2)Or is it a conspriracy to unsettle Spurs by influential media people with an interest in keeping the so called big four safe from the emerging threat of Spurs?
Just thought I would stir things up a bit. It's been so quiet on the Spurs news front this wekk. :-))))))

We will not finish 4th with no left sided midfield player and a central pair of Zokora & Jenas. All the top 4 have at least one world class player in the middle, we don't. Perhaps Comolli and Levy should try addressing these issues before knifing BMJ in the back.

Commoli is doing a great job. For the first time we are buying some real top quality youngsters. People keep talking about the money we have spent but most of that money has gone on players under the age of 20. Top 4 may be too early this season but we will see the true benefits of commoli's work soon when the likes of Tarrabt, Kaboul, Pekhart, Dixon Bale, Benechie etc gain a little more experience.

Despite the last couple of days i really do think the future is bright at Spurs

the club have already stated that they dont bring in players without jol's approval coz that would be stupid!!!!! it would be a waist of everyone's time and money! i dont know why some people come up with these stupid comments

with Riquelme I think we have a strong chance - without - i think our midfield lacks the experience to last the full season.

Sadly we wont make fourth. The no left winger is the obvious problem and will be all season unless someone is brought or Tarrabt is given a lot of games there and does well. He's a bit too young though to make that sort of impact already. The defence is my big worry though. With Kaboul and King out for a month or so I think we will let in a lot of goals in some key fixtures coming up. Hopefully Dawson will be back soon though.
This whole season has got me down already with all the injuries and rumours about Jol etc.

As one ex Tottenham player once said football funny old game, I have a strange feeling that the event over pasts few days has change spurs forever, before the this week episode covering jol future will the sack him or not it was almost given that Tottenham were consider by most as one of club with greatest chance of getting into holy-grail of champion league but the club and the management didn’t really have the stomach for real success, but fact that spurs now prepared to get rid of jol will surely send a real message to all those players who given less than 100% for Tottenham colours they will be thinking that clubs now means business, if club prepared to get rid of most successful manager in 20 years well no position is safe if they don’t perform they will moved on ……… we see on Sunday if this weeks events the most fool hardy or Best decision the board have ever made …

Because in the past we’ve talk big never even delivered now players and management know if they fail they will moved on …. And if leave spurs as player only thing those player have look forward to lower level of club and standard

Its stupid to blame Comolli. If he was bringing in players over Jol's head, Jol would still be a cnut for staying in the job in an untenable position.
Can we make 4th. We can. We must. We will.

It all depends whether the kick up the backside that Jol and Hughton received actually produces a higher level of skills from them rather than squad issues.

It's true we are weak in central mid-field and Riquelme would be an asset but only if Jol knows how to organise the team to benefit from this. He may do, as we nearly made 4th when we had Carrick playing a similar role to that of Riquelme.

For my money we have enough talent on the pitch, but have so far been lacking in coaching and organisation and Jol has to improve this or he will be gone.

in the 05-06 season we only had DAVIDS as a left sided player n we only missed on 4th in the last geme. this year we have BALE, he was bort in as a winger so WE DO have a left sided player n if we get TAYLOR he'l play left back wiv LEE as cover. so can we stop moaning please!!!! to make TOP4 we need RIQUELME SIMPLE AS THAT AND OUR INJURED PLAYERS BACK!!!!! HA! Matthew Norman has been banned and good riddance. Just posted this on the Metro website in response to their article on the topic. Not sure if it will make it past their filters...

"Matthew Norman has been the biggest self-hating Spurs fan for as long as I can remember. And what lofty bastion of the Fourth Estate do the Standard think they are to cry facism (ha spot the irony of that one) when they spout unadulterated, unaccountable, unsubstantiated crap at will to sell a few more copies. Bye bye mainstream media, say hello to the internet and the wisdom of crowds. Your hegemonic one way megaphone days are over. Join the conversation or close the door on your way out."

I have been a spurs fans since 1982 and have suffered through the many years of underacheivement and near misses togther with the club.

What I couldn't understand is how thick some spurs fans are.Blame Comolli? Blame Levy? Faith and loyalty is great but blind faith is stupid.

Jol has a lot of backing.Period.He couldn't deliver. He is one of the most clueless manager around. The talent in the team is such that they should achieve 5th blindfolded each season.

George Graham won us a League cup but received little credit b'cos of his so called likns with gooner.

Levy received little credit even when he amanaged the club fantastically well financially.I even heard people calling him a money man.Are you guys living in a real world ? Do you work for your bosses for free ? Your treatment of our chairman is disgraceful !!!!
I even saw comments from idiots saying that they will trust Jol rather than Levy.Goodness, do you guys have any grey materials in your head in Britain ? I thank the heavens that Levy is in charge and not YOU...!

Wake up, you mugs ! Support Levy plan to bring in world class manager.Jol is nothing more than a dutch eriksson.Nice guy but lousy manager.

We all deserve success and Jol must do the decent thing and accept that he just out of his depth.

A foreign spurs fan..
