Where to now?

Defensive mistakes cost us again tonight as crashed to defeat although it was our first loss in seven games. However we seem determined to blow games left, right and centre. If we had taken maximum points at Fulham, Liverpool and a point at Sunderland we would have 5 more points - that would put us twelfth. Still not great but better where we are now and only 6 points off the UEFA places. The league is now almost dead and we need wins home and away against Blackburn, Portsmouth and Manchester City to have any chance of picking up the points necessary to secure a top six finish.

It was Dawson's turn tonight to provide the defensive mistakes being woefully positioned for the first and completely losing his man for the second. Jenas looked interested for about 10 minutes before giving up and Chimbonda looks like he couldn't give a monkeys.

Where has it all gone wrong? It is all very easy to blame Jol and he has to take his share - tactical mistakes cost us against the scum and Chelsea last season and Fulham away this. However he has got it right at times - we outplayed Liverpool and our failure to close down a cross cost us a win - we were unlucky against United but it now looks like confidence is dropping like a stone.

Levy is just as responsible - he allowed big money to be spent on players we did not need and Jol did not want while we failed to get the midfielder Jol asked for and we could all see we needed. The biggest screw up this season has been making our manager a lame duck - stabbing him in the back has fatally wounded Jol - his time is now up but without Levy and his mob going as well we shall be no better off. Any manager treated like Jol has would find himself in a similar situation regardless of his ability. Other managers have seen how we operate and how we have treated our most successful manager for years - why would they come to Spurs now? They won't.

Sacking Jol is the least of our problems. Enic have to go and until they do we're fucked.

what are you talking about Shelfie.. Enic have invested millions in this club.. and intend to keep doing so with plans for a new stadium. They are clearly not the problem.

The standard of coaching is the problem. Jol is too nice to manage, and our players, despite being world class, just don't put in the effort.

Making the manager a lame duck was the baords fault as was wasting 16 million on a two bob striker we didn't need. That is the boards fault.

Its not the board. They get their blame for spending big money on Bent but we did need a fourth striker who could have been our 3rd main striker as we couldn't guarantee if Jermain Defoe was staying with us. I blame Both the players and the manager as the players such as jenas, lee and tainio do not give it ther best or are just not good enough.

I blame the manager for not getting the best out of players such as Kaboul who looks like a top player. The manager decides the team and he leaves two of our main players, berby and lennon on the bench. Sad to lose Bale but we had 4 central midfielders playing in midfield. All they end up doing is playing in each others area and confusion just messes them up.

Our main problem is not only at the back as after watching the past few SPURS games, Ive realised the amount of pressure we invite by losing the ball in midfield at dangerous counter attacking times. Fair enough, Dawson was very far from his game today but he is also a defender who gives his heart. Their training methods surely are not working both tactically and on the field.

I believe its time Taarabt should be in the starting line up rather than jenas. We are not getting anywhere with our current starting line up, so there's no harm in experimenting what the skilful youngster can offer. And he will develop as he gets 1st team experience.

Time for Jol to move on. We need a new manager and i wouldnt mind having klinsmann in. People complain he doesnt have any club managerial experience but neither did Roy keane and he has done well for sunderland. We will bounce back if we could get the above into action.

Martin Jol can't select the correct team to save his life. For far too long he has picked Tainio and Malbranque, the former simply not good enough while the later is too slow while giving the ball away regularly. There are no problems with Keano but for fuck's sake give Defoe a few games. In fact, if Jol simply selected his best 11, the line-up could easily include Defoe and Berbs up front while Keane could be employed effectively on the left, w/ allowance to come inside. Next, Jol needs to realize that, like Tainio and Malcrap, Zakora and Jenas are not good enough!!! These 2 midfielders simply fade into obscurity on far too a regular basis. Lennon needs to played when healty, and when not, another right winger needs to be selected, ie) Routlage or Boeteng. Next, Taraabt needs to play!!! The future is now! Albeit against weaker competition this boy was man of the match in every preseason game he played in!!! Jol must play him rather than being stricken with fear and littering the park w/ average, defensive central midfielders. He overcomplicates things and tries to have an "away team." Just pick the best 11!!!! Next, Rocha and Gardner are absolute crap - not good enough even as subs. Get rid of them. Rocha was not a hero against Manu as some suggested. Rather, he dempnstrated he was clearly out of his league, struggling to survive, ie) diving to head the ball out of bounds when no one was around to pressure him!
We need a world class central midfielder, left winger and a manager who selects the best 11...and regularly!!!

Tottenham 'till I die!

jol has to go, we looked like a lame team tonight, not motivated only half the players bothered, dawson had a stinker but jols tactics are lame, he hasnt got a clue, we are known for years for being an attacking team jol knows we need results yet he sets the team up to try and pack the midfield, we had no width, no flair and kept the best players on the bench like berbatov and lennon, i dont see man utd and the scum play so reserved the play attacking football using both flanks home and away, jol on the other hand plays a reserved unterested team full of central midfielders and no wingers, whats hes game? why does he try to play like blackburn away from home? we are supposed to be a flair team, an attacking team, we should be using both flanks like man utd etc, home and away just like the top 4 do, but clever jol thinks that tainio, zokora and jenas are gonna compact the midfield and contain newcastle, lol, first of all we are not built for that sort of game, we are an attacking team, hes gotta forget the stupid tactits hes using and start playing to our full potential, home and away we have to go out as an attacking unit not as a negative one cos hes tactits are killing the team and confusing the players, JOL HAS TO GO,where was defoe? we need a frsh start to kick start the players and get them competetive again because at the moment even the playeres look dissinterested, oh by the way jenas can go too

i mean look at a typical jol fck up, when bale got injured who was playing as a winger, jol replaced him with anaverage midfielder(tainio)so we already lost our width and his original game plane when up the spout, so how on earth sre the palyers gonna get ujsed to stupid tactical changes like this, for bale to have started it means we had a plan to attack them from wide arears, so why didnt lennon come on from then and continue the game plan? what an idiot, where was tarrabt?defoe?

A manager who just before the game comes up with an idea such as newcastle are not our match or class etc. is in my opinion can be classed an idiot.

Jol obviously cant motivate his players but does the job well for the opposition manager.

Besides Jol aint got a clue about squad rotation,Zokora aint marking anyone ,Jenas doesnt know if he is an attacking or defending midfield,Dawson ans Kaboul cant defend because they are too busy doing Midfielders job as well as theirs.

Jols time is up..but ENIC aint to blame..Jol brought this on himself.

Bring on Capello,Lippi,Rehhagel..or pay Mourinhos compensation and get the bloke in asap.

Tha games up BMJ take the Hoot with you and while your there make space for Comoli and the rest of the idiots at the acedemy who clearly have no clue what we as Spurs fans expect from our players and back room staff alike...

Too many ex Watford F.C. backroom staff involved in the acdemy set up .. look at the route 1 football we play, is it a coincidence ? I think not........

Jol or whoever behind the scenes has continually paid over the odds for complete rubbish.

Zorka is the next Vieria.
Bent - 16.5 Million.....

Some of the players seem to have lost their quality since arriving - who's fault is that. the Manager and coaching staff

The Sun is shinning down the road in N5.

It was close over the last couple of seasons but the money spent has done nothing. more damage than anything.

Arsenal are laughing at the Spurs - and loudly.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Defoe - he was excellent in the dear Hunter but haven't seen him do much since.

Paxton, how do you know that Bent was bought without Jol's approvement? Jol is a nice guy thats all. He is tactically inept and yes, we did manage 5th two season so what? Alot of the matches we won where we werent suppose to thus papering over the cracks whilst flattering us. I have no problems with the board, they have put their money where their mouths are, unlike previous regimes. Both you and Jol dont reaslise is being nice and charasmatic dont win points, so you need to take of your Jolly specs for a while.

To summarise, we had two very good seasons with a sub-standard manager that came in our club as a number 2, and that once the pressure and expectation rose after the first season his tactical ineptness and poor decision making got found out as time went on which ultimately conspired to him losing the respect of the playes and fans alike. A thoroughly nice chap, but in the end the only barometer can be team performances and results, and this season with the squad and resources at his disposal, the words that describe what we have seen so far this season are disjointed, disorganised, mismanaged and uninspired. Good luck wherever you go Mr Jol, we thank you for two seasons that brought a renewed hope to Spurs fans over the world, but it was plainly obvious to me from the moment we lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup that you didnt really have a clue.
