Why Levy needs to go.

I posted this on FTL.

People, I am no massive Jol fan - I know he makes mistakes and the errors at Fulham threw away a win. However, I see a greater problem that is now affecting our club. One that makes it impossible for Jol and any other manager to ever succeed at Spurs.

Why Levy Must Go.

Yeah Jol has his faults but has been the most successful league manager for 20 years.

However, lets now look at or f**kwit chairman:

He allows Jol / Comolli to spend £40 million
He then suddenly decides he wants Jol gone 2 games into the season.

What message does this send out to the players to begin with? Imagine doing your job knowing your boss is not rated by the big cheese - what does that do for your opinion of him? Do you respect him or realise his time is up? What does that do for your motivation?

Levy then "backs the man" but continues to look for people like Mourinhio etc further undermining the boss.

Before the season started we had strengthened but not in important areas like midfield - Bent was never needed and this is Comolli's fault - he is the man responsible for that. Even so we still looked comfortable for a top six and maybe sneak the fourth spot. Now we are rudderless, players know Jol is going, Jol knows he is going - if you know you are getting the sack then will you still give 100% in your job? I wouldn't but I'd make sure I'd get my pay off.

Now view us from another managers view point. We have had our two most successful league seasons for years and yet the board are working behind the managers back. You don't have total control of the team as you have Comolli in the background all the time. You see how Jol is currently being treated., Would you want to come and work for the shambles that is Levy and Fat Kelmsey? I doubt it.

So we now sit in no mans land and I can only see one clear person to blame and that is Levy. Until this worm is driven from our club whoever is in charge will have his hand tied behind his back.

And finally, every managerial appointment Levy has made has been a disaster. And so many on here put so much faith in him to deliver better than Jol when he has done more in the last moth to wreck our season than anyone.

How many times do people need to be told that Jol has the veto on ALL first team players coming in and going out - the man himself has stated it on more than one occasion.

Your comments are way off the Mark... the chairman has been a revalation. The manager has peaked and we need a manager with winning experience to take us another level.

Agree with last comment, Jol is the one who needs to go

He peaked and is now going backwards.

He has no tactics whatsoever, picks negative line-ups, thinks central midfielders can play wide, does not know how to use a sdubstituiton and as for Defoe's exclusion?!!

Also is Robbie Keane Jol's secret love child?!!

Thanks for what you've done Jol, but time to move on, goodbye.

Where were we under Sugar? Who was in our starting 11 then? Who was on our bench then? Now when you've managed to figure that one out, ask yourself what's changed between then and now?

Your wrong mate. The chairman has taken us so much further forward, look where we were before i came and shook things up. We might have finished 5th 2 seasons running, but im sorry its not because of jol. The players have been brought in to get us there, but never once can you say that the players we have have really really looked at there full potential. Just imagine what could happen with a new job draw manger. Alot of people seem to forget we finished fivth the first time round because we was out of both cups and Arsenal had a bad season, second half of the season we were crap, just somehow manged to stay forth for a long time. When have we played really good football under Jol? Mr Levy has done it all right, given Jol the signs that if he doesnt deliever then he will have to go.

Oh and forgot to say, Defoe please dont go, just wait for jol to go, and maybe take robbie keane with you. I like Keane dont get me wrong, but one question for you all.... If Keane had 10 one on one's how many do u think he would score? Mr Levy get us that manger we know u can get.

who writes this shit?

Levy must go? The same Levy that has turned us into a top side again, the same one the has invested more money in the last 3 years than in the 15 prior to that combined?

Personally I dont give a fuck if he stabs Jol in the back, Jol is a cunt. Jol must go. If ol was doing his job well, then his job would be safe no?

We arent a charity for dutch retards. Levy should be doing everything in his power to get in a top manager. NOW.

We cant afford to be sentimental, we have invested a fucking shed load in siome great players and Jol is fucking everything up.

I thought King and Gardener were supposed to be our only injury problems for todays match. If that was the case Jol needs sacking right now for the starting line up he picked! Kaboul should have been our holding midfielder. Lennon, Bale and Lee should have started and Defoe (whoes confidence must have been sky high after those 2 beauties) couldn't even make the bench??? Bye bye BMJ.

People forget that under Sugar there were great players in the starting 11 like Klinsmann and Sheringham, just to name 2 of them. I agree that Levy has caused more harm this season than Jol's tactics. Levy is at fault, but realistically Jol is the one who will leave. Just hope Comolli and Hughton leave as well.

Oh, and it should be obvious that you shouldn't listen to what Jol says to the media. Normally they're excuses and the run around. Do you honestly believe that he has veto over ALL first team players, if he doesn't have full control over the first team players who the club spends money to purchase?

This headline article has to be one of the ridiculous I have ever read.Levy has done more for this club than that fat incompetent oaf ever will. When are we going to wake up and smell the coffee and get rid of Jol.3rd from bottom and this fat idiot thinks he is doing a good job,we have conceded goals for as long as he has been in charge, without it being close to ever being rectified...he is incompetent and needs to go now.We have to score three to have a chance of winning a game,we have no chance of winning anything with him in charge.

There is some sensible comments in this article, but to even ask for Levy to step down is utter garbage! The man has put us back on a firm footing, as a club not just from a financial stand point, and i agree with most, Jol has not got what it takes to get us into the top 4 in the short term, far too cautious with a very good squad

Come On!

This is all getting a little out of hand!

Jol's time at Spurs is, regrettably, over.

Simply because a certain chain of events has turned things against him...he has now lost the confidence of the players, the fans and the board. This doesn't make him a bad manager...it just means things have gone against him...it has happened before to good managers at good clubs...it'll happen many times in the future.

Let's stop having a go at everyone we can think of at the club...let's just accept that we now have no choice but to replace MJ and thank him sincerely for his service.

He has been an asset but his time is over.

As for Levy...best chairman we've had in my memory...and, anyway, replacing him would have little immediate impact...not like replacing the manager...

bye Martin, and Thanks

I think we can agree that we all 'like' Martin Jol but the patience has finally run out (even for the most loyal of Jols fan) and it is certainly time now for him to go.

No-one would argue that Spurs have certainly progressed in the last 2-3 years but considering the money spent and the players we have, a 'decent' manager would have qualified us for champions league and possibly a cup final during Jols reign.

He is not the man to take us to that next level and if you didnt know it, you do know NO DOUBT.

I wish him well in the future but i don't want him to be 'in charge' of Spurs anymore.

Thanks & GOODBYE Martin, and please take Hughton with you (and maybe Keane?)

Who needs to go is the one who decides we dont needs a CM and splashes 16m on a striker we clearly dont need. Who needs to go is one who thinks buying midfielders like Jenas,Murphy,Gally etc will get you a top 4 slot. Who needs to go is one who buys a 4 foot defender in Rocha and expect him to put the scare into forwards like Drogba adn Adebayor. Who needs to leave is one who thinks average players like Lee,Ekotto,Taino will lead us to champions league glory.Who needs to leave is one that assembles a team together to challenge the biguns and has no concept of height within the team and most importantly steel.I am sorry but any Spurs fans out there who thinks this unbalanced side will crash into the top 4 needs to get their head tested. We are now on equal footing to most team in that they have money to burn. You only have to look at the Arse to see its not the money you spend but who you spend it on.Someone within Spurs has bad judgement in spotting talent and its THAT person who need to leave.

this is a ridiculous article, sorry mate you haven;t got a clue. levy is interested in getting us to the next level and will sell us on for a huge profit but will leave us with a quality squad, the best potential i can remember since hoddle, ardiles, etc. i dont blame him for selling and ultimately we will end up with an american or russian tycoon.
beofre you write articles like this, what has levy actually done wrong. jol is tactically inept - simply play your best team. left footed players playing on the left would be a start, bale looks so good.

Disagree with the headline article, but Jol should only go if we first find a better replacement who will agree to join us - Easier said than done eh!!! As far as Defoe is concerned Jol is absolutely right to punish him for refusing to sign a contract - It's a shame George Graham never employed the same tactic with Judas! Never forget that Defoe has the same agent as Judas and he also proved at West Ham that loyalty is not a strong point!!!

'Jol is right to punish Defoe'?

Bullshit

I think you'll find that Defoe is right to refuse a contract extension given the fact he has been shat on by Jol since the 'clueless ones' arrival and if i was Defoe, i'd do the same. Infact i would have gone by now

And who cares who his agent is, he will be gone by Jan anyway (if Jol is still around, that is)

9:14 PM, September 23, 2007

And how can you question Defoes 'loyalty'

NO other player would still be here if he was treated the same.

Imagine the 'whinger' Robbie Keane in Defoe's position?!!!

Exactly!

9:16 PM, September 23, 2007

Anonymous Anonymous said...

If he was loyal he would commit to the club. I'm sure that a compromise of a year's extension would have been possible but it's clear that Sky Andrew has advised him to run his contract down like Judas!

9:48 PM, September 23, 2007

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Do you really think the club will allow him to run his contract down?!!

NO CHANCE

Carrick had 1 year left, refused to sign, so was sold

The same will happen to Defoe in Jan, if not the summer, thats A FACT

If Defoe doesn't agree to go then he rots in the reserves and looses a years playing time, ruins his career and fucks up his chance of securing a decent move

I suppose if he did he would still expect a big payoff if we sacked him.dump the dead dutchman bring in Jack Sparrow

Just as well you lot are in the stands not in charge!

What the piece says is basically correct, tho' I would not get rid of Levy, but WHL is a snake-pit and whatever Jol say's publicly (and everything he's said is "correct" and appropriate and in support of club policy) he's very clearly not been involved in all the buy's.

Should Levy go? I think not and its extremely unlikely, but why so many absolutes, Levy can be good overall but still make errors can't he? This type of one false move and your gone mentality is why we are where we are now. The board has made a serious error; Levy is Chairman the responsibility does rest with him.

For where we are, stability to maintain a top 5 place, some good Euro/FA cup runs and a chance to grow and mature a squad that is/will be the backbone of the England squad for a good few years to come is what we need to do. Getting even the special one it would still be a massive uphill task to overhaul any of the top four right now. But patience and we've a squad of enormous potential.

A get rich quick board and a fan base that want the league this year or next is what's screwing this club, a bit of realism and common sense splashed with some patience is what Jol has offered but that's not good enough for some. remember Jol has only been managing a short time in the EPL and we're matching up against Wenger and Fergie. Jol will get better too and Levy should be more interested in developing his strengths and fixing his weaknesses rather than just replacing components.

Who will come to Spurs. No way men ! Not with such a meager offer and rigid wage structure. The only option for the club is just to attract young players who wouldnt mind the lower paycheck but able to play in the first 11. You keep on buying "potential" young players but never seem to develop them. What a waste. No big name manager will want to come and to ask Mourinho to come to spurs , you must be dreaming. Please dream of a Russian billionair who is willing to buy over and change the club fortune forever. Spurs best target for this year is bottom half of the table and you need to wake up guys !!

WILL SURVIVE BY MARTIN JOL
First I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never turn Spurs into a top 4 side
But I spent oh so many nights thinking how Staltari did me wrong
Perhaps I'm wrong??, but I'll just have to carry on
and we'll be back, into 5th place
I'll just wait till the transfer window to sign another waste of
space
I should have sold Paul Robinson, I should have dropped him from the
team
If I had known for just one second he'd concede more goals than Derby
Coun-ty
Go on now go, Bent there's the door
just turn around now, 'cause you don't score goals anymore
weren't you the one that cost more than Thierry Henry, I knew you'd
crumble, I'd rather have Emile Hes-key,,,,
Oh no cause I, I will survive
As long as I win the next 6 games I know I will stay alive,
I've got Tainio who is shat, & Huddlestone who's just fat, but I'll
survive
I will survive..
It took all the strength I had not to fall apart
kept trying hard to mend Defoe's relationship with his little t@rt
and I spent oh so many nights trying on John Barnes's tights
And oh I've cried, I want the Spurs job till I die!
And you see Keane, he hates me too
I subbed him off when we were winning, then we went and ****ing drew!
And now im scratching my big chin, why can't I just sell Ledley King?
If I'm gonna save my skin, I'll need some politics style Spin!!
