Good news about the new badge.

Apparently the new badge will please traditionalists according to people in the know at Spurs. The Trust have also seen it and are happy with it but it won't look like the badge on this mock up of the new shirt currently doing the rounds. COYS have it here, one of the best Spurs message boards around by the way.

So, if true, this rules out a return of the cockeral on a ball which was used for much of the seventies. So this leaves something like we had back in the 50s and 60s maybe as seen in these images:

This is depressing... over at the gooners, they are talking about the inpending arrival of Walcott and here the good news is the badge...half the window period is gone and we have lost out on Bridge, the new "Jaap Stam" and some failed bids.It sounds like one of those pre-arnesan days.

I'm sorry annon, but I was at the reserve game last night and the sloppy pole was useless, if he wants to know how to be a striker he should keep a close eye on lee barnard (pace, control, passion and an eye for goal). Yes he scord an overhead but he had so much time and space against a Championship RESERVE team it was shocking

Has it been confirmed then that puma will be our new kit sponsor because if it is it might aswell be f***ing pony again because they are shite..why cant we have something like addidas with a shirt sponsor of someone like sony or Orange (being appropriate for the jolly one!) LG are some shitty electronics manufacturer who's equipment is at best cheap and cheerful, it dont really say to anyone that with all this re-branding of the famous lilly whites that were getting the best deals and best sponsorship sounds like were just getting the shite that man u chelsea and the gooners dont want!!

Anyway enough of the kit situation can anyone tell me why 1, were changing the badge anyway?? and what difference it makes?? 2, why Lee Barnard is content season after season sitting in the reserves banging in goals for fun?? surely the lad is either very unlucky in not getting a chance for the 1st team or he's content and has found his level??

Why are spurs so quiet this transfer window i thought we were gonna sign at least 3 players this window with 2 of them being left sided walcott?bridge? and a striker kuyt?iaquinta?pele? lmao

Its quite embarrasing realy that were talking about this when the gooners are getting transfers signed and sealed..I really fear for our 4th place spot at the moment if arsenal win at liverpool (there game in hand) they go above us on GD and i cant really see us picking up more points then them from now until th end of the season we've still got chelsea at there's united at ours and the big one arsenal at there's i think the best from that we could hope for would be 5 points but can u see it?? I aint so sure i think we rely on MIDO to much

Just for the record. LG are the fastest growing, richest electronics company in Korea. They sponser Lyon i think aswell? They are no way a cheap and cheerful sponser. They are bigger than sodding O2... I agree though about the motto being in latin. I liked that our page was more intelligent than the other london scum clubs. Making it english just means we are degrading ourselves to Arsenal level. If the kit does look like that though, I wouldnt really be bothered. I really liked our adidas kit a few years back, shame the team was crap at the time.

Bridge has not definately gone to Fulham yet
Walcott was never gunna come to us for that much money otherwise we would have splashed out on Kuyt or Downing by now. Unfortunately, despite our summer activity, I cant see us making any big-money signings. 7million seems to be as high as we go. So Bridge might still move to us but we cant promise regular first team if Lee is fit so he might choose Fulham for regularity.

I dont like that new kit, it needs a little yellow trim. Something like the 91 umbro one. As for LG please no, its so boring. Lets get something like Microsoft or the always popular Hostern.

As for the signings we need a forward, C.Cole or Kuyt are our best options at the mo. And we need to sort out our laft hand side, still think Bridge would fit in quiet well.
As for that Derby player who keeps stealing a Spurs shirt and smeaking on the field, security needs to stop him. Before he costs us our European spot and this isnt being a git. He isnt good enough for us and thats a fact.

I like the kit - it's mostly white, just like the lillywhites remember. I also think both Barnard and Rasiak should be given a run in the team i.e. 5 games, if after that they still can't cut it then so be it. I think the current kit (though I hated it when I first saw it on the web) is brilliant; it says "We Mean Business".

Badge - smadge! The club has to protect the Logo, the name, the brand, and the intellectual property; I think it is a good sign that our board have now caught up wth other forward thinking clubs in this respect. Rasiak - pah! I've seen telephone boxes that are more mobile.

4th place - at last we are not a joke club any more. It will be a mighty challenge to hang on to this position, but let's look at the next four fixtures; we have Villa, Fulham, Charlton, and Sunderland. Liverpool have Manure, The Scum, and Chelski. Let's see which bird is singing the loudest at the end of February, the Liver Bird or the Cockney Cockerel.

If this is the badge then the logo really should remain latin.
Somehow it doesn't look as exotic in English.

My gut tells me that Bridge will go to Fulham unfortunately.
Lee is not very good so Bridge should be given a starting place but the reality is that he probably wouldn't.
We still only have 1 left back!! Why??
Stalteri was punted as someone who can play both sides yet he remains the RB and other players play out of position, Kelly to his detriment.

I pray for 4th or better but I can't see us holding off the s***.
Also why hasn't he given Barnard a chance when Rasiak is so pants!
He may not be the best but he deserves a chance surely?

COYS - sign some stars

PS. How can you copyright a language?? Does that mean some owns English words so we can't use them?

Be patient boys! Remember the last 2 January tranfer windows? We signed Reid and Dawson in the final hours, and Defoe the season before with time running out.

We have made too many rash buys over the years and where has it got us?

I trust Jol and Comoli`s judgment totally and i agree if we have to wait for the right player, then it makes sense.
We all know where we need strength.
Extra cover at left back, a top left winger, and a big holding striker.
These are all hard places to find average, let alone top class in January.

There are not too many decent left backs out there, and Wayne Bridge is one of the better. I think an initial loan would be a good deal for both player and club. After his recent injuries, though a very good player when fit, we dont want to sign a good player for a lot of money, only to sit in the treatment room! (Remember Anderton?) A loan tril period makes sense.

Big strikers?
Kuit would be the ideal man cause he also gets a good share of goals, but his club wont let him go until the end of the season.
So what do we do? Search for a loan striker till the end of the season and then but Kuit, or pay out,get a qick fix only to waste funds long term?

And finally on the left wing?
Tell me how many top left wingers who would fit into the british game that are available?
Not many at all, and those that are out there would cost a fortune because other clubs realise this same problem position.

So be patient guys.
Jol knows where we need strength but we have to be patient. The window still has plenty of time to run!

Let`s not remember, we are 4th and in a good position for Europe next season, and boast a very good young eager side with massive potential including Lennon and Huddlestone.

Come on you Spurs!!!!

Lets hold fire a second, as a few have mentioned we are notorious, for waiting to the last minute to sign players in January. If we are going to get rid of our polish friend and replace him it would make sense to do it sooner rather than later in case Mido gets home after a first stage knockout. However people of the caliber of kuit are only going to be available in the summer. Although there is no reason not to get the deal done and dusted now, ala Paul Robbo (England, England No. 1). Just in case Van gets injured before the world cup and kuit ends up with the golden boot and goes to Madrid for silly money.
In the mean time maybe only a little investment on the left hand side, with a more natural winger (although I doubt anyone on a Spurs blog would complain for a moment about Tanio or the Predator). Although I can’t see Jol this season playing Lennon/Routledge down the right and another winger down the left. He like a combative midfield with moments of flair. Reid could do a job from the bench again it can take a little time to settle and shed the pounds, although we never minded Gazza being a bit on the chunky side. OK Bridge would be a great buy, £7M is a lot. But Lee maybe needs a season to settle. I think on the whole we can be a little quick to judge and maybe the pole and Lee and Reid from the bench with some extra support can see us through, lets not be bitter and trust in the Jol style. As it's a massive improvement on where we have been in the last decade+. But lets start early tying down some player before the World Cup for next season.
P.S Kits not bad either as this is only a mock up, once the ink is dry from LG and Puma, it will be jazzed up. One last thought, maybe the badge won’t be the only thing revealed tomorrow.??

We should be bidding for Ajax's Nigel De Jong. He is out of contract soon and they are willing to sell for around a million and the West Ham are in discussions. He is a quality defender that came through the ajax youth setup. Good competition for Dawson and King at CB and cover for Stalteri at RB.
At left wing we should table a serious offer for Downing. Boro are shit at the moment (just five points of the bottom 3) and he may want to join us and they ay accept. If not stick with the Ajax/Dutch link and offer good money for Wesley Sneijder.
If you were Wayne Bridge who would you go to? We could play him and Lee and have them interchanging down the left wing. An interesting idea.

good point abbots!

To secure Kuit now for the end of the season would be good business, and anyone else before the world cup for that matter.

The world cup has a good and bad side to it regarding transfers.
Good in that it is like a shop window and a wider choice of players are on show.
The bad side is that if a player has a good world cup, up goes his value. Hopefully Kuit will ist on the bench!!!

I think Lee is a good player with good Champions league experience, but you do need to cover every position with 2 players, as suggests Jol and Mourinho, so there is room for Bridge.
It also provides more tactical opportunites as Lee and Bridge can both operate either at left back or left midfield, and would provide a good overlap.
Rasiak however, i have major doubts with.
He has a good attitude, but sadly lacks talent good enough for the Premiership, let alone a top 6 side. Although he is tall and provied arial threat, he lacks strenght which Mido has. You might argue Crouch is big but lacks strenght, but Crouch gets away with it because he has ability on the ball and links players together well when he drops deep. Sadly, Rasiak lacks this so relies on a heading game up front.

As for the left position, Davids
is always useful there, but i feel we get the best out of him in the middle. It`s a problem position for us, so we have no option at the moment but to play out of position players there.
Bring back Ginola!!!

i like the shirt, badge is great but the sponser arghhhhh its got a huge patch of f**king red on it.don't care how much money they want to pile into the club lets get this red colour off our shirt for good.

also everyone be calm about the transfer window,if martin jol thinks we need to buy he'll buy.i have every faith in this man to produce the goods and im sure deep down all spurs fans feel the same.if we don't buy we'll still finish fourth, thats my opinion.

We MUST buy to keep the 4th place. All the "big 4" teams have added and strengthened in the transfer window.
The quietness at WHL signals, in my opinion, that Levy do not want to gamble big money on players or Jol and co has accepted that we are not going to challenge for that CL place.
Or Comolli just ain't in Arnesan class when coming to wheeling and dealing on players.
It's plain for our eyes to see, there is obvious weakness in the squad, which cannot be rectify internally.
Unless Jol can turn water into wine, I just can't see how we can keep that 4th spot till end of the season

Totally agree with the last post. We need strengthening if we are realistically going to stay in 4th. We don't need alot though.
A replacement for Gardner and a left sided player.
And a new striker if we are to part with Rasiak.
Thats all we need in my opinion

its made out of sphere dry, which as i'm sure you're all aware is not only a fantastic material, but it is a much better material than the present replicas. if arsenal's kit is going to be made out of sphere then it stands to reason that everyone else's will be next year as well.

Lets hear some opinions on who we should sign, the transfer window is only open for a month and so far half of it has passed and as yet no activity. Why do we always leave it late?? Surely it would be nice to have any new signings as soon as possible.

we will sign bridge on loan until the end of the season. huddlestone is back from wolves. jol will sign a striker at the last minute - no idea who. ziegler will return at the end of the season. i dont think he'll sign a left midfielde. job done.

I'm only telling you facts as I'm working closely with a korean firm and your facts on LG and Samsung are incorrect.

Sponsorships are hard reality. The biggest joined with the biggest. We ain't doing too badly, if a foreign MNC wants to tie up with us, it means spurs have global branding potential and thats good news.

LG is with us because of Lee Yong Pyo.If we continue to be successful, spurs would be a great draw in the far east and maybe the Glazers and Abramovich's may come...

The ONLY thing that Samsung edge LG Electronics in are mobile phones.

But LG also happen to be in the TOP 4 mobile phones makers and distributers in the WORLD. Only Nokia (1) Motoraloa (2) and Samsung are ahead of them.

With their joint ventures with Phillips LG are now one of the most powerful and respected electronics in the world. FACT

I don't work closely with a Korean company, either.
