Three players to leave.

The media are now reporting a well know fact around the various message boards for weeks that Portsmouth want to buy Davis, Pamarot and Mendes for around seven million pounds.

This looks a great deal epecially if the cash is up front. We paid around seven million pounds for all three and none of them have ever really called themselves first team regulars. In fact, to be getting what we paid for for Sean Davis is an excellent bit of business as we all know his knee is a bit dodgy.

If this is all true I will be sad to see Pedro Mendes leave the club as I think he is a top class midfielder and is just as good as Jenas is you ask me. A Champions League winner at portsmouth as well. What is going on there?

Bought for:

Davis 2.5m
Mendes 2m
Pamarot 1.7m

TOTAL 6.2m

Good riddance.......and for a profit too !

Now we just need to offload a few more of the dead wood, add maybe add 2/3 quality signings and we SHOULD be well on our way.

for me it is a good deal cos of the money but i feel davis is a top class midfielder and we haven't had the chance to see the best of him. for me its crazy to say that michael brown is better than both mendes and davis!! i don't agree with jol there at all.

and i don't agree with u sayin that mendes is just as good as jenas......jenas is goalscorer and is proving that with 4 goals so far....mendes is good but wont get u many goals.

Let the Pompey revolution begin!

:D :D :D

I think Davis will slot nicely into our midfield alongside O'Neil and Taylor.

Not seen enough of Mendes to have an opinion on him. I hope he is as good as a CL winners medal should suggest.

Pamarot was very unlucky with us during his first spell at the club when he was a very young lad. I would still rate Primus/Priske/Griffin as better right backs.

Just have to trust Harry's judgement on them players.

Think £7.5 million is a tad high for them.

Would have liked Brown to be thrown in as well for that price.

Davis was ok for Fulham ,never has the chance with Spurs.
Mendes was the best of 'The Bunch' but limited chances this season.
Pamarot is absolute shyte.

Maybe Brown aswell for a combined fee of £8m, far too high m,e thinks, but, hey if you wanna spend it !

Maybe we could do that deal and then give you £15m to take Rasiak off our hands !!

Sad to see Davis go as he`s an excellent box-to-box player when fit. Good riddance to Pamarot and as for Mendes I think he is pretty heavy limited as a player. Good deal for us. Good deal for Pompey. As for Brown I think he showed in the 2-0 win at COMS what he is capable of. Great squadplayer. Can`t get rid of them all.

Mendes is better than Brown but his attitude probably more than anything in not wanting to be a squad player has cost him his Tottenham career. Davis ain't any better than Tainio, Jenas, Davids and Carrick so although I think he is a decent player probably better to let him go. Pamarot I think would make a better centre back but no great loss there. Now if we can lose the rest of the deadwood which we have again gathered plenty it is time to continue the investment for the future, Walcott, Kuyt and a full back will be a good start.

You obviously don't go to any games then do you PIKEY

Everyone has a bad perception of Portsmouth FC and their fans because they are a fucking joke

They have the worst stadium in the league, actually in the whole of the country, even the saints have a better stadium than you.

The club is run by a complete joke of a board and the whole Harry episode has just made an even bigger mockery of Pompey Pikeys.

You are all inbreds

Yep, your die hard fans (not you numpty) might sing when you are 4-0 down but that's because you are so used to losing, fucking retards.

And you spend your time on a Tottenham blog rather than your own, or is that because you are all too fucking stupid to create one?

You Complete Cock Jock

Thanks for giving us well over the odds for our crap players, enjoy the relegation battle & good luck next year in the Championship, Loser

One point as a spurs fan...........

solution to left back position is simple; pull out all stops to sign wanye bridge from chelsea, with y.p lee as back up ( he scares me as a defender! but is a decent enough back-up) i also seem to remember bridge playing a cracking game for england with ashley cole on the left. He can play left mid too and the overlapping and swapping position with cole was great.

If we get him which i think we should try to at least, we would have a natural left-footed player down the left and he could do the overlapping stuff with either zeigler or y.p.lee. zeigler has a killer cross on him and lee is quite usefull going forward so it would give us a real threat when attacking.

what u reckon boyz??!!

LEFT WING.........Sneijder/Ribery

STRIKER..........Dirk Kuyt

Above is the squad i would like Spurs to have come end of January

I think that will bring perfect balance with a good blend & mix (sounds like I'm baking a fookin' cake!) & also would set us up nicely for the run-in to a Top 4 finish

Hopefully the 7.5m deal with Pompey will go ahead (Davis, Mendes & Pamarot) and then maybe sell Gardner, Brown & possibly Reid for a combined fee of @ 5-6m

Expenditure:
LB @ 5m
CB @ 6m
LW @ 8m
ST @ 10m

Ok, so with the incoming cash we still need to fork out about £16m but if that means we'll get CL footie next season then we'll definitely re-coup that no problem.
Then maybe look to strengthen in the summer, CL football means more money, more pulling power and............Fuck Me, Happy Days are back @ The Lane !

In Jol we Trust

Pamarot is dodgy to say the least, but I can see him fitting in at Pompey, esp with the way they play. Davis has never been given a chance, a player with so much promise at Fulham, I cant help thinking his injury problems are a factor...Mendes is a fukin whiner, tata. I like Browns attitude, and hes not frightened to have a pop on goal, right? Can we get Ziegler back at any time? I reckon Kuyt will sign for the summer, and still havent given up hope on Pederson? Would welcome Bridge, just cant see Jose offloading any of his talented Brits...

Just thinking about it and last year we actually made a profit.

This Summers Ins & Outs also mean we are still up a few quid.

Out
Edman 2m
Atouba 1.7m
Davies 4m
Kanoute 4.4m
Arnesen! 5-8m !

In
Stalteri Free
Tainio Free
Davids Free
Lennon 1m
Routledge 1.5m
Y.P.Lee @ 2m
Huddlestone 2.5m
Jenas 7m
Bean Pole 2m

so around 3-4m up

Forgot about M G Pederson, probably because i don't see him leaving blackburn but would defo welcome him.....& another goal tonite v Man Usa!

Seems like Stalteri has gotten better with each game in the past month or so, whereas Lee is looking increasingly un-nerving...You know hes gonna cut right, or put in a shite cross with his left....Defending he looks very edgy...I thought Edman was decent, we need Bridge, or similar...

12:03 AM, January 12, 2006

Anonymous Anonymous said...

I liked Edman too, although prone to give away the odd pen, decent enough & worth keeping if only for back up

Strange one that, when he left, but who am I to question Jol

Hopefully after Reid & Rasiak MJ has learned a lesson & will only look to STRENGTHEN the squad now not buy just for the sake of it.

Comoli is hopefully earning his fat wages and is gonna unearth the worlds next superstar

Maybe we should also try and pull out all the stops to sign the kid from Southampton, Walcott?

Awesome potential

Cheshunt Yid, great point.
GIVE BARNARD A CHANCE...hell he sounds prolific enough...if he doesn't get a shout soon, he'll be off like a number of other promising players we've had over the years. (Yep come to think of it, previous Spurs managers have actually DROPPED players for playing well or scoring in a match. Allan Neilsen - scores winner in '99 league cup then is promptly sold!)

I'll say it again too, BRING BACK ZIEGLER he's quality!!!

I think the trio serves us excellently last season and I wish them well. They are not deadwood as some of you claim but its the sign of times at spurs; we are a progressive club and we moved on from their contributions last season.
I think the other players that should move on are Brown and Gardner. In their place, I hope we get D. Murphy and Kompany. We definitely needs cover at LB and though I like Lee,I think Barry and/or W Bridge would be brilliant for us.
The back up striker is probably our biggest problem; poor rasiak should definitely move on.He is not good enough for Sunderland, let alone spurs.
There is no chance of Kuyt joining us in Jan.I'm not sure of the italian chap and the quoted sum of 7mil is a lot of money to gamble on. For that money, I rather gamble on Dean ashton or Andrew Johnson .
One more thing.....Walcott for Spurs. That would definetly give the WHL at lift !
