Lennon and Dawson extend stay
Spurs have done a very clever thing today and have extended the contracts of Dawson and Lennon probably on better terms as well.
Dawson has been immense this season and Lennon is one of our most exciting players since Ginola (ok not a lot of competition) but has been very good and his pace scares the crap out of defenders.
It should put to bed all the stupid rumors that Lennon was going to Man U and Dawson to Liverpool and would have also seen the removal of a £5 million transfer clause from Lennon's contract.

IT WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD IF THEIR EXTENSIONS WERE LONGER. PARTICULARLY LENNON, WE ONLY PAID 1M FOR HIM SO WE JUST COULD NOT LOSE BY GETTING HIM TO SIGN AN 8 YEAR CONTRACT LIKE THE ONE SIMON DAVIES GOT

The extentions are good news but don't necessarily mean either player won't be sold before the contract runs out. I think it was barmby who signed for 3 or 5 years and then left 6 months later.
Funny game football, we're still ahead of arse*** in the league yet they knocked out real madrid and are currently playing juve off the park and we struggle to beat west brom at home. Can somebody give me a reason which isn't fuelled by hope or desperation as to why I should believe that they won't have overtaken us by the season's end?
Stalteri, Lee and kelly are mid-table. Davids has run out of steam or enthusiasm. Jenas is badly inconsistant. I currently feel that our success this season is hanging by a thread. Hope our run of luck continues coz we appear to need it.

Quite right too. Whilst reading the program before the match on Monday I picked Dawson as my player of the season and Lennon as Young Player.

On a different note, someone please re-assure me we are not going to make any attempts to sign Johnathan Zebina from Juve. He makes Stalteri look good. The guy has no pace, or control & gives the ball away in dangerous positions. I read the rumours previously about us signing him & now I am quite worried ! Please MJ, look elsewhere, this guy is shite.

Mostly agree with 9.51 with the exception of Lee, because of a lack of a left winger Lee has to defend and provide width. Davids should go at the end of the season as well as Kelly. However my point is this is one of the worst seasons in recent times for football we are so boring at times and inconsistant but we need to make Europe to attract better players and money, we are still suffering from losing against Blackburn and not making Europe. With a couple of additions to the squad in the right areas we will be able to contest a top four place for years to come. Realistically CL is going to be a step too far if we don,t beat Newcastle and Man City if we do we should be OK. I missed the game on Monday but watched on TV and the tension is emense lets all relax and roar the team on.

Saw the gooners game vs Juve....as much as i hate to say this....I just hope we have somebody as inspirational as Henry to lead our young talents like Dawson and Lennon.
I can't help but think that young gooners like Fabregas grow in stature because of the presence of a superstar like Henry.
Lennon, Dawson, Huddlestone etc all could become players that would help us compete againts the gooners.
We only need a talisman..pray that a miracle can happen...
