Berbatov returns

And thank goodness as well. Our £10.9million striker is match fit again and is ready to take his palce alongside Defoe for the visit of Manure. Although he has only been here since August he is now a key, key player in our team. Without him we seem to be able to create next to nothing and his link up play and creativity is now so important to the team that we cannot do without him. While this shows what a good player he is it also shows Comolli and Levy's inability to back up his excellent signing with someone similar to run the midfield. We currently have Zokora, who still blows hot and cold, JJ who can be brilliant and then invisable and Huddlestone who still needs time before he can be called the finished article.

And thus our reliance on Berbatov is becoming a problem as we all saw against the scum on Wednesday. Mido's header was our first shot on target and it came with 5 minutes to go before the end of normal time.

Berbatov also shows that if you pay top money you get a top player. Pissing around with 3 million here and 3 million there often will buy you a player that is probably no better than what you currently have. Rocha could be a prime example fo this. His mistake ultimatly cost us the goal that had has beat in the semi final. I know it was only his second game and he needs more time but more often than not we have been after a top quality player but have settled for the cheaper option no one has ever heard of but we are assured he is good. What the club fail to realise is when we go out and buy 4 £3 million players as each one can't hack it we may as well have spent the big money in the first place.

Anyway, only King is missing tomorrow. We can beat Chavski so why not Manure.

Believe. COYS!

How many times in one season do we actually get to play our "first choice" eleven.. So far this season it hasn't happened. Last season it was fewer than half of the games.

We always seem to get more than our fair share of injuries.

To 12.40. Every team gets injuries,. That's why it's a squad game. Our injury situation is not half as bad nowadyays as it used to be with Francis and Ardiles etc. I am hoping we put on a good home performance tomorrow to give us all something to be optimistic about again. After performances like the Arsenal match it always makes you look at the weak points of the team. I think it brings us down to earth a bit. We are still a good side, but without players like Berbatov, Lennon and King being fit we become quite average. Overall I feel our home displays have been quite good at times this season. If we play as well as I know we can do tomorrow then e can definitely get atleast a point. Our defending against there key players is key to getting a result. COYS

Hi, i often read your posts with interests and they more often than not are right on the money. This one however for me 50% misses the point and to a degree looks to find a solution to a problem in the wrong place.

The missing 50% is Berb away from white hart lane, many technically adept "foreign" playeers have been "homers" failing in our fast and tough league ever to perform away from home, Berb at this moment in time sits 100% it this category at the mo....so I say when we look deep for our excuses for being 2nd best let us not start to say without him we are not the same team, because for 50% of the time we are and that is poor ( but still all round much better than two years back....so progress has been made yes) The progress made is largely thru back room policy rather than the way the club in run day to day and on match day....So I think when we look to make the next step we need a VERY close look at Jol.......in my opinion he really does not have the background to suggest he can take us to the next step...it's just not on his CV and not being served up that in the absense of experience he can actually deliver. We should to waste the good policy in how we now buy quality young talent on a man who may just not be able to get more than 50% out of them in real world terms...watch this space, but if we don't at least get to a final this year and finish 5th then we need more at the top ...

best regards paul

why didnt we play jenas on the right when lennon was out?? we did quite well last year when this was the case? we could of still started with huddlestone then? ghaly isnt premiership quality although i do admire his commitment, anyone who gets half his teeth kicked out and plays on deserves a clap in my book.
midfield should of been jenas, zokora, huddlestone, malbranque.
And if we are going to keep lumping it up the pitch then why not play berbs & mido??

We should of got something out of the game when we played man u at old trafford earlier in the season but i think we have gone backwards in our play since then, i think its confidence more than anything, not a great season this year, average at best. But we still have a great team coming through, we`ll get there eventually, maybe next year.

Yes lets stop signing cheapo garbage.

Lets spend BIG like Arsenal

They bought Toure for 250k
Eboue for 250k
Djourou for nil
Clicy for nil
Hoyte for nil
Senderos for nil
Denilson for 2 mil
Fabregas for nil
Hleb for 3 mill
Van Persie for 3 mil
and Henry Adabayor for less
we spent on Berbatov.

Quote from JOL " Bringing in a world class playmaker like Davids will elevate us to a new level where we can compete with the premiership and euro elite. He will bring quality and harmony to our alrady top quality ranks " August 2005

News of world today

Davids invited Keane outside to settle an argument. Keane agreed and promptly knocked Edgear spark out !!!

We lacked the quality in midfield to cope with Man u.

Carrick is what we missed today, but instead we have an understudy in tom who's not gonna be the player we want for at least another season.

and Zokora is shit pure shit and for 8mil did commoli have shares in st etitene cos he fucking ruined us on that one.

Two worse things we have done is let Carrick go and let Arnesen go.

Arnesen brought in the players that are and where great for us

Dawson
Lennon
Robinson
Carrick
Big Tom
Jenas

Who has commoli brought in

Zokora
Ekoto
Chimbonda
Ghaly
Rocha
Lee
Malbranque
Berbatov

Only two or three of the above are decent and thats because their well known.

We let us two big assests go and now Jol has forgotten how to manage
what the fuck are we gonna do.

If we are not careful we could be dragged into the relegation fight due to our poor away form and we have been beaten more times at home this season then our last two the board need to take a view.

I can't stand this shit we love our club but the people wearing our shirts don't give a fuck anymore.

Thats because of the kind of players we have brought in Zokora hugging Eboue and toure i know their from the same country but what the fuck.

Same go's for Rocha hugging Ronaldo before the start of the second half what was he saying o well done for being a dirty diving cheating cunt, i doubt it.

Get some players with fucking balls and passion.

What this club needs is stability.

Jol has to stay if only to be given the chance that the 05-06 season was no fluke.

However I would love to see Clive Allen promoted to first team coach, and shift Hughton to refreshment technician.

No ... A knee jerk is a sudden reaction caused by a shock impact that is unexpected and not a normal occurence.

Spurs current form is regularly poor, expected and we are rapidly becoming accustomed to it.
You idiots who defend Jol and claim we are improving are hiding behind lillywhite coloured spectacles.
Your are ignorant if you do not realise of what is happening to our once (long long ago) great club.
We are light years behind arsenal or whatever you want to call em.

No not knee jerk.

1:38 AM, February 05, 2007

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Last season was a one off where we were blessed with good luck on injuries and key players were in form for long periods.
We were not alone. Wesh ham had the same sort of season albeit more successful and now they are in trouble.
Being a good manager is not about one season.
Remenber we won nothing and went out of 2 cups in the first round allowing us to give our all in the league.

You could call us one season wonders because Jol has failed to improve us even though he has had a fortune to spend.

Comments by our fans are not knee jerk reactions. Only concern that a commited, popular but severly limited man is in charge.

Reluctantly I agree with the Jol out lobby.

We are now 11th in the table.
Have lost our last 3 at home,
We have let in more goals at home than Watford who are bottom.
We have only won 1 away from home.
We have scored 8 away goals
Less than Charlton who are in trouble.
Only 5 teams below us have conceded more.
We have a tough run in including Arsenal Liverpool and Chelsea.

We are not performing and key players are losing form.

I agree with park len and many others that jol should step down

Your club lack class

Showing the Ronaldo penalty on the big screen shows what a poor club you are.

No other club would show what would be seen as potential to incite the crowd.
Did they show gardners clumsy foul on larson ?

Course they didnt

What about Berbtovs blatant dive. Was that shown on the screen at full time ?

Of course not,

Carrick was booed through out the game.
His crime ?

To leave a small club for a big club.

When Carrick left west ham for spurs he again left a small club for a bigger club.

Spurs are living in a dream world where they consider them selves amongst the elite.
Truth is you are a nothing club.
No major trophies for 13 years and just a few fading memories shown regularly on your huge screens,

Being in the shadow of your monster north london neighbours is making you all bitter and twisted.
I dont much like arsenal but they are a big club with far more class than you lot.

Even your fans are in a time warp thinking violence is a sign of power,
Beating up young kids and showering women and old men in spittle is a vile commentary on your fans.

Big club ? no

Respected ? no

A sad old club with no class and a fading history

Oh. This is the pits.

We still have a chance for pride in Europe, finally. And that is in no small part due to Mr Jol.

Last year what we saw was a genuine team spirit, long missing from White Hart Lane.

It looked like purpose.
And the result was a league table we were proud of right until last show.

This year.. some of our worst 'gone fishing' performances in a good while.

The loss of Carrick has the impact expected. The loss of King too has been too much to stand, and seen the exciting talent of Dawson struggle, only to be compacted by Robinson's peculiar failings.

Jol has been disappointing because of his failure to turn games around. I don't believe now is the moment to send him packing.

Performances without spine, nevermind goals, have been the real sadness this season.

And days like Sunday.. have to be stopped and seen as completely unacceptable to our football club.

By everyone.

White.

Very depressing to be a Spurs fan at the moment, confidence has gone from the players, and the fans. Need a turnaround and quick or i fear it will be back to the drawing board with another new manager.

The team spirit has gone. Last year we competed in EVERY game we played, and did not capitulate ONCE. Normal serice has now been resumed. Fairweather Spurs are back. If the manager cannot change the mantality, then quite simpky he has to go...it's not good enough at ALL this season.

As for you goons, chavs and manure fans, you show your true class by choosing to gloat on our forums. Says it all really doesnt it.

England performance nearly as depressing as our form. Only cheer was no spurs players playing setting themselves up for a press mauling.
Berby scored 2 which will do his confidence good but I heard he aggravated his groin.

Also heard King might not play again this season.
We have also dropped down the club wealth league and ominously arsenal will jump into the top 6 next year as a result of their move to ashburton grove.
As much as it hurts I must say their new arena is superb and is generating millions in extra revenue for wenger to perform more miracles.
We must move from our ground if we want to stay in contact with the big clubs
