"It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. And we of Spurs have set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory." Bill Nicholson. SPURS

Spurs thrash Bolton.

Spurs thrashed Bolton with two very different performances thanks to the the incompetent Poll causing chaos once again. Never content to see us do well after the Chelsea media spin earlier in the season he now looks to do one over on us. Some breathtaking football saw us lead 3-0 in next to no time and Bolton were dead and buried so Poll evened things up by dismissing Robbie Keane for a deliberate handball stopping a goal. Speed scored the resulting penalty and we faced 65 minutes or so of Bolton style football with ten men.

What was important was the fact we went in with a two goal cushion. This allowed Jol to organise the troops into two banks of four defending as a team with Berbatov alone up front looking to hold up the ball so Lennon, Jenas and Tainio could support. It worked very well and Bolton resulted to launching balls to the back post, which we did not always defend too well but Robinson, Zokora and in particular Dawson kept them at bay. Berbatov was absolutly fantastic in holding the ball up while the midfield supported well. Jol make a good change with the tiring Tainio coming off for Steed who was able to take the pressure off the back four with his forward running with the ball and he set up the fourth goal of the afternoon. Zokora showed again why we paid £8 million for him and Dawson was immense.

A terrific performance. I still think Quictime Movies are the best way to go. I am hoping to receive some more and make a nice little album at the end of the season.
This one will be a stand out.
    Nice work!

    Arsenal lost also; perfect....

Do you know what? I think we have finally clicked and are playing like a top five side.

The Team now are coming into form, and very other team in the PL should be scared to face us, after watching a performance like that.

It seems that the players and Jol included have decided to get over the loss of Carrick, and the injury to King, and have said, "well lets get on with it we are Tottenham hotspur".

I wonder if the sports psycologist got them watching videos on the history of spurs, and talks on what Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool and The Scum have that we don´t have. May be just simple old self-belief.

I have always said this about the Jol regime, that the most we can expect is to play as good as a top Dutch side, Ajax PSV, there´s nothing wrong with any of them them.

Like Berbatov Said in the post match interview they played as a team. All of this season, up until now, Spurs have always had a transitional air about them. New players coming in, players leaving, quotes of "in 3 years time we´ll make a real challenge". But now i trully believe this team has said fuck off to that air of transition and have pulled themselves together.

It is a shame that this form is happening now and not before Chrismas. There is a little something about us, which could do well in the CL, but we could finnish 7th if other team´s results go our way.

Bigup to the players and Jol and lets hope they keep it up. The way we played today is what we are all about.

Park len...possibly having a heart break over last night Carling cup final.

Berbatov could just be our answer to greatness.I'm getting worried who will be sniffing around our star man who remind me of a certain Dennis Bergkamp.Sooner or later we have to scrap our wage structure if we want to keep him. It is obvious he is a top top man.

I was one of those who wasn't convinced about Jol.But the extra training to get physical certainly had helped us.

I have always believed if we cultivate a work ethic and toughen our mentality. The superior skills our our boys will keep us challenging at the top.

The last minutes goals against Everton and Bolton proved that if we keep digging in.The likes of Berbatov, Lennon, Keane and Defoe will conjure something extra for us.

loving the videos mate, keep them coming, and the music this time too boot. self confidence is definitely what has turned us around, you could see it in Jenas especially. considering some of the news, it might be jenas specifically who is giving us the boost, Jol saying that he has boosted the team spirit in the locker room. I think that is what Davids did for us last year, gave us confidence and pride, and now, it might be jenas turn.
