Birmingham mugged

It appears Steve Bruce and the Birmingham board have been mugged by a short balding man and his french side kick as they now appear willing to pay Spurs £6 million pounds for Mido! Lets hope we are biting their hands off to off load the lazy Egyptian who has been more trouble than he is worth in the last season.

Mido will always be remembered for his amazing debut. Waddling on to the pitch we all wondered what we had snapped up on loan but he then banged in two quality goals against Portsmouth before being subsituted for health reasons. He then performed reasonably well for the next 12 months or so, while he was playing for a contract. Within this time his weight ballooned and he officially became Tottenham's most hairiest player ever.

Once a contract was awarded Mido decided to get trim which he did. Unfortunately Mido's skill appears to be linked with his weight and hair. The fatter and hairier he is the better he becomes. The slim, trim, smooth Mido we all put up with last season was a joke saving his worst performance for the Chavs FA cup away game. Berbatov came off and Mido did so little we ended up drawing a game we should have won. A mistake by Jol but a disgraceful performance by Mido.

If Bruce has any sense he will not include a monetary win bonus for Mido but a Kebab bonus. Every win sees Mido given an all you can eat voucher at the "The Big Donner" in Solihull. Score a hat-trick and pick up extra chili sauce. He would be unstoppable!

COYS!

LOL
Im so surprised anyone would offer more than 4m for Mido. He's decent striker but getting 6m for him is just a bonus for us.
We pay 16m for bent and sell Mido for 6m, so really...we just paid 10m for bent. Score!!!
Jol is a genius.
Good luck to Mido in Brumland....he'll keep the pie stands in business.

Whos turn will it be for the cockney gobshite treatment at WHL next season. All players are human beings not machines and react to situations in diferent ways. How many players have been a waste of space down there over the years. If Berbatoffy has a couple of bad games it will be exactly the same, every player is only as good as his last game regardless of who they are and how much they are earning. How about Gazza the Kebab eating fat genius. Short memories, big mouths, no brains, no cups, no europe. Do I need to go on?

10M for bent. Now who got ripped off? Even Bent doesnt rate himself that highly. 17k a week, you would have thought a 16m striker would be worth more than that.

Although i agree Mido is not worth 6m i actually believe he will do well for Brum. In his first season he felt like one of the main players at spurs and the fans took an instant liking to him.Mido gave us a target man (anyone was better than rasiak!!), goals and 100% effort. Last season it was well known he was 4th choice and i believe this is the reason his performances were below par.Mido is a player who needs to feel wanted at a club and also feel he is one of the star players. He is capable of 15 + goals a season and i for one wish him and brum all the best of luck for the coming season. If Brum stay up with the help of Mido's goals to bag another 30m next season it wont look like bad business on their part

Spurs fan-Come on lads, we thought Mido was great in his first season and even used to sing his name, short memories or what. Give him a run in a team and he'll do fine, 6m seems a fair price to me

6m is a present from the (it looks to be) relegation favourites brumingham. mido has shown some class, i guess, in his "fantastic" season, but he has proven to be a one off- his "prime" form lasted 12 months, which seema surprisin for such s*** player. Maybe he has the skills and the ability, but he doesnt have it right in the head - he got ahead of himself thinkin he wos the next wonder class striker and played a self-dillusioneld game ever since he cracked.. dont worry mido, it happens, football is not a 3-dimensional sport. bruce aint that stupid, hes looking to purely survive, and his belief (worth £6m) that mido will bring in the goals and flick on creativity to help his brum side to finish 17th is a joke.. sounds like bruce has the same dillusions, but in his case from desperation.. which u cant blame. we look like we r buildin a great squad, all we need is a bit of creativity in the middle. how the f** jolis gona rotate with top 4 strikers is beyond me, ill leave it to the man to wait and see

I think your all being a bit harsh, the season before last mido was quality for us and a vast majority of us wanted him to return on a permenant contract. Unfortunatley for Mido Berbatov came along and had no chance of playing regularly. I personally think that this £6mill will turn out to be bargain for brum. Dont get me wrong i'm glad we have sold him as he was surplus to requirements and £6m is a good price for us but today £6m isn't very much for a striker especially if he plays a major part in keeping them up, which i beleive he will.

I´ve always liked Mido. When he come to us he had a bad rep but jol handled him very well. He settled in and proved he is good enough for Enlish football. Maybe he´s not good enough for the top flight anymore but Im sure he´ll do a good job for the Brums. I wish him the best but hope he is in the African cup when we meet Birmingham.

Just looked into renewing my membership on the Spurs website.
Pretty annoyed at seeing there is no way of actually renewing my old membership and can only buy a new one. No loyalty points are being carried over from my two seasons as a member, so what was the point of that? Just getting my head round the fact it is now worse because you cant choose your seat, you dont keep your loyalty points and they want 7 quid more!! WTF!
I'll be on the phone on Monday to sort it out, but just wondering if anyone here knew more?

I think the point is we could never have expected to get that much for him, many of us were concerned we'd not find a club for him, and we'd of all been happy with 3m. Comparing this deal to any other is stupid. Apart from the one that brought him to us. Look at that and you see we make a profit on a player who really showed his limits last time. I like him always have, but we have to be happy with this.

Paxton - I'm surprised and disappointed with the attack on Mido - these are cheap shots and quite unnecessary. He did a very good job for us until we found better options and even last season he almost saved our hides with a goal against the A***nal! - What a hero he would have been if we'd just finished the job!! I for one, wish him well and believe that Birmingham will think he is very good value if he helps keep them in the premier league.... but I wonder if Steve Bruce has worked out that if he does play well, Egypt will want him for the African Nations for a crucial part of the season LOL!

Just got to point out that we paid good money for Mido, so the 16M for Bent is still 16M. If you buy a sofa for 60 quid then another for 160 quid, your layout is 210 quid. If you sell tha old one for 60 quid you still spend 160 on your sofa!

Its good to recoup the money but that's all it is, it is not a discount on Bent at all. How do some of you blokes manage you finances.

It's good buisness, when you consider he would never have another look in at Spurs.
We are not even selling at a loss and made a profit of 1.5mil over a outcast ! We have done that over the years buy cheap sell dear.Another piece of astute business by Levy. Why should we regret even if Mido rejuvenate himself eslewhere ?Do you guys seriously think that you want him more than any of the 4 others we have now ?

What surprised me is that Brum did not wait for the end of the transfer window when it is almost certain we will flog Mido off for lesser money than that.Unlike Bent who had suitors, Brum is almost the only option for Spurs and Mido.

1.18AM, we win some and we lose some.I suspect that we had promised Bent that he would come to Spurs and would not want to unsettle him by a long drawn transfer wrangle.

16mil is a premium but when we consider Yukubu quoted at 12mil, maybe its not as expensive as it first seems.

When come to tranfers strategy, you can't consider each purchase and discuss the priciness. What matters is the transfer budget avialable, the importance of that player, and funds raising.

Man U paid a premiun for many of their players but do they care. Not at all, when your finances are controlled well and the team start winning and generating money.

Haha, 1:18. If you buy a sofa for 60 quid and then another for 160 quid you still spend 210 quid! Then he asks how others manage their finances! Funny shit, was that a point? What are you talking about sofa's for anyway? Muppet!
We did pay money for Mido, but THE POINT IS many people believed we would never get that money back, or even him out the door as who would want him for the money we paid, after ANOTHER disrupted season and his whole career in doubt...AGAIN! Then we get very good money for him and it suddenly seems the price of Bent isn't so bad. Do you get it? I wasn't one who had a problem with Bent's fee anyway, or started to whine about it meaning Defoe will definitely go just because the daily mail said so, but all in all this summer if someone had said (regardless of Mio's initiial cost) this summer you'd swap Mido and 10m for Bent then we would have all been happy. 6m for Mido NOW is excellent business by the club. They made a mistake bringing him in, and then turned it into a good deal, but still you stick to working out prices for sofas and leave the football to the experts. Haha, hate to slag off a fellow yid, but you're a mug.

I'm also a mido fan...he's showing a good character on the pitch but he always been a bad boy to me... I remember watched him on TV when he was yelling at his own coach in Egypt just because he was subtituted...at that point I realized he's going to cost us a lot of trouble if he can't handle his temper....so thank God we finally get rid of him and 6m is good bargain to me

Hello all, birmingham fan here, i will be more than happy if Mido can score us between 12-15 goals this season and we finish 17th as survival is our first target. 6m is not a lot these days as prices are somewhat inflated due to being even more money in the prem league these days!! I don't think we have been mugged as bruce has a habit of buying donkey's and selling them on at no loss and sometimes a large profit "Heskey & Pennant" spring to mind!!! If Mido starts well then we bluenoses will take to him , we always are the eternal optimists up here as we have never won bugger all since 1875, so after 132 yeras of nothing i'm sure we can wait another few years!!!!!!!!!!

I actually think Mido will do very well for Brum this season, as he's got a point to prove. The big question is if he's got the mentality to sustain it. You just know he's going to score against us when we play them.

Your not the brightest are you! I'm confident that Mido will become a fantastic player for us but you should also realise if your opinions are true you wont get all your money. It's £2.5 million upfront the rest depends on appearances, and goals so I'd wish Mido the best of luck with his new venture. Also, the little joke at the end I live in Solihull and you can bet that Mido won't be living there. Also, Solihull is a posh area there are NO kebab shops fish and chips yes but kebab shop no.

Another silhillian here!...Spot on, Spurs have only got £2.5 million up front and you have more chance of buying a burger at Wembley for less than a tenner than getting anywhere near £6million for him and besides our new owner could afford that with his loose change!. We just sold DJ Campbell to Leicester for £2.5 million, so by your logic, we got Mido on a free!!!!!
Now when you come to St Andrews, stay over at one of our many 5 star hotels in Solihull, but if you want Londonesque fayre like kebabs and such, you'll have to take a trek along the M6 to Aston!!.

dont you just love these new foreign owners with more loose change than sense ?!
mido was great 1st season cos he was playing for a contract. unfortunately, complaceny and weight then crept in and that was that. 24 and 10 clubs already? i wonder where he will be next season you blue midlands muppets ?!

160 PLUS 60 = 210? And not one of you could pick up on it. Its a waste of time trying to talk sense to people that cant add up a couple of simple figures. The point about Gazza eating kebabs was not a comparison between the two players, it was just me pointing out that it is pointless slagging off a player who apparently has the same traits as one of your hero's. Double standards or no brainer remarks. Just say you think Mido is a crap footballer and leave the so called jokes alone, you aint got the brains to come up with something original.
