Viera on his way

Ergh. Has bean pension grabber sees us coming. 3 years too late. Redknapp the saviour and he pulls of the signing of a player Wenger shipped on long ago as he realised he was finished. The dust cart rolls in three years later.

I despair.

With thanks to Spurs Odyssey.

No it's not. We need another quality centre midfielder. This necessitated by our lack thereof and proved further by Arry's attempts to sign Muntari and Barry.

you shouldn't just post things you see on SO/SC/FTL... most of the time the rumours don't come off, as you can see by looking to the right at your previous posts - bassong done, o'hara to fulham, villa bid for bentley/hudd...

This rumour seems to be picking up steam. Personally, I think Vieira would be a decent signing who could offer alot in terms of mentality and experience, especially to Palacios. If he still has the desire and shows his commitment he could even be a candidate for captain. Yeah, I'll probably get slated for that, but if he's upto the job I really don't care.

If he still has the legs, why not? All this "Arsenal crap" and whatever... so we shouldn't get a class player just because he played for Arsenal?? Give me a break. If he helps to push us to the direction of where we want to be, why should we not take the chance on him? And a free transfer with a pay-as-you-play deal on a reduced contract seems a good deal to me! And the influence he will have on the squad will be immense! Don't forget that since he left Arse they have won nothing, and he has just won the Scudetto with Inter... the lad is a born winner. I welcome his influence on our squad if we can get this agreed, and those who decry him for his Arse past need to really get your heads sorted. You're probably the same ones who moan about the small red logo on the shirts... there is a bigger picture that needs looking at apart from little incidentals like Vieira's Arse past, and I'm tired of us cutting off our noses to spite our face.

Rock Solid, Othello. Could not agree more. While I'd clearly prefer the Vieira of 2002, he still has the means to run the center of the pitch on his day. Zero downside here. Zero.

what can he do for spurs this year?

well experienced head .a lot!!....inter milan etc

dont underestimate viera as a professional.....he will make the younger heads consider.....
if this is true then
look to the future....
he may be a bargain!

I agree he'll be a good head to the young guys and show some of them what professionalism is. Palacios also need someone for cover.

Now it seems we don't/can't throw around 15m to bring players in, this I believe is as good as it is.

not dont/cant its could/wont. I dont want Vieira, no matter how good he will make us. I see where a lot of u are coming from Othello in particular but I just cant stand the thought of seeing him in a Spurs shirt. The mans a C-LI-N-T as is Henry and I couldnt stomach watching either of them in a Spurs shirt. I know the pro's in this situation, look at what he made Scabregas into with his influence, and dont be as foolish to credit Wenger for that because how many has he done it with since vieira's departure? Dispite this, I really dont want him at Spurs. Its not the fact that hes played for them, its the fact that he was one of their top boys for so long like henry and cole i would never EVER want to see them play for us. Its like allowing a convicted, reformed paedophile look after my kids... Not happening!

He'll never come, but imagine the look of the Gooners when they see there ex hero in a SPURS shirt. Sitting on the floor next to the bench, waiting(Crying) to get on a North London Derby.
Lets see what the Gooners call Viera - Judus or Sol.

Is he too old?
Vieira will be like a 16 year kid on the training ground when he sees lennon for the first time. He will be running all over the place, thinkig Christmas has come early.. While kissing the badge, telling the reporters how he supported SPURS as a kid.

lol watch how he's not fit or able to play away and then turns up at the emirates to watch his favourite team play.
This transfer wont happen but if it did no doubt it would have to involve a very decent sign on fee.

Italian sports paper, the Corriere dello Sport and other Italian sources have announced that "Patrick Vieira will sign a 12 month contract with Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur FC, by July 22nd".

The Italian radio stations have also run the story stating that "Vieira has announced that he will be leaving Milan and returning to London to play for Tottenham Hotspur".

"Vieira also has an option to sign for Fulham, but has decided to move to Tottenham Hotspur as he is personal friends with the Tottenham Hotspur head coach, Harry Redknapp", added the radio station.

Who said "I don't care how good he will make us, I don't want him at our club" that has to be the DUMMMMMMMEST thing I've EVER heard.. If you're a fan, you should FIRST AND FORMOST want you club to be as good as it can, and you should want your club to do ANYTHING (leagal) to get better every day. If that means getting a player (legend, might I add) from a rival, than we should. He wants to play for us, he is a leader like (allmost) none other... PLUSS can you imagine the goonerfaces when "Vieira's Spurs" kick Ar5ena1 out of the top 4.
