Viera on his way
Ergh. Has bean pension grabber sees us coming. 3 years too late. Redknapp the saviour and he pulls of the signing of a player Wenger shipped on long ago as he realised he was finished. The dust cart rolls in three years later.
I despair.
With thanks to Spurs Odyssey.

9:53 PM, July 13, 2009
Is it any wonder so many other clubs take the piss out of us when we fall for ridiculous stories like this one
9:56 PM, July 13, 2009
Not a chance, with Pally in the middle, he wouldn't even get in !
Left winger and front man is the priority !!

No it's not. We need another quality centre midfielder. This necessitated by our lack thereof and proved further by Arry's attempts to sign Muntari and Barry.
10:07 PM, July 13, 2009
Also being reported that we have signed the two Kyles from SU and are in talks with Negredo.
10:17 PM, July 13, 2009
this is one of the worst rumours i have heard this summer, absolute ridiculous! please people do not believe
10:18 PM, July 13, 2009
you shouldn't just post things you see on SO/SC/FTL... most of the time the rumours don't come off, as you can see by looking to the right at your previous posts - bassong done, o'hara to fulham, villa bid for bentley/hudd...
10:45 PM, July 13, 2009
Not everything is right but the kit was and Zokora signing was on here weeks before it was announced, as was Corluka.
10:51 PM, July 13, 2009
Throw enough shit, some sticks.
11:13 PM, July 13, 2009
This is a case of dont buy unless its better than we have got ,old stars is what we need to help our youngsters to take the next step figo viera beckam sol campbell he hang on a min sol .Oh well if he pays the 500 quid to all our 2000thousand choir and begs forgivnes.coys
11:14 PM, July 13, 2009
Keep on churning the rumour mill of shite.
11:21 PM, July 13, 2009
There is NO WAY Viera will come to us. NO WAY. what is the point. These guys are stupid.
1:29 AM, July 14, 2009
This rumour seems to be picking up steam. Personally, I think Vieira would be a decent signing who could offer alot in terms of mentality and experience, especially to Palacios. If he still has the desire and shows his commitment he could even be a candidate for captain. Yeah, I'll probably get slated for that, but if he's upto the job I really don't care.
1:37 AM, July 14, 2009
If he still has the legs, why not? All this "Arsenal crap" and whatever... so we shouldn't get a class player just because he played for Arsenal?? Give me a break. If he helps to push us to the direction of where we want to be, why should we not take the chance on him? And a free transfer with a pay-as-you-play deal on a reduced contract seems a good deal to me! And the influence he will have on the squad will be immense! Don't forget that since he left Arse they have won nothing, and he has just won the Scudetto with Inter... the lad is a born winner. I welcome his influence on our squad if we can get this agreed, and those who decry him for his Arse past need to really get your heads sorted. You're probably the same ones who moan about the small red logo on the shirts... there is a bigger picture that needs looking at apart from little incidentals like Vieira's Arse past, and I'm tired of us cutting off our noses to spite our face.
1:53 AM, July 14, 2009
Rock Solid, Othello. Could not agree more. While I'd clearly prefer the Vieira of 2002, he still has the means to run the center of the pitch on his day. Zero downside here. Zero.
2:27 AM, July 14, 2009
what can he do for spurs this year?
well experienced head .a lot!!....inter milan etc
dont underestimate viera as a professional.....he will make the younger heads consider.....
if this is true then
look to the future....
he may be a bargain!
3:04 AM, July 14, 2009
I agree he'll be a good head to the young guys and show some of them what professionalism is. Palacios also need someone for cover.
Now it seems we don't/can't throw around 15m to bring players in, this I believe is as good as it is.
6:10 AM, July 14, 2009
not dont/cant its could/wont. I dont want Vieira, no matter how good he will make us. I see where a lot of u are coming from Othello in particular but I just cant stand the thought of seeing him in a Spurs shirt. The mans a C-LI-N-T as is Henry and I couldnt stomach watching either of them in a Spurs shirt. I know the pro's in this situation, look at what he made Scabregas into with his influence, and dont be as foolish to credit Wenger for that because how many has he done it with since vieira's departure? Dispite this, I really dont want him at Spurs. Its not the fact that hes played for them, its the fact that he was one of their top boys for so long like henry and cole i would never EVER want to see them play for us. Its like allowing a convicted, reformed paedophile look after my kids... Not happening!
7:07 AM, July 14, 2009
He'll never come, but imagine the look of the Gooners when they see there ex hero in a SPURS shirt. Sitting on the floor next to the bench, waiting(Crying) to get on a North London Derby.
Lets see what the Gooners call Viera - Judus or Sol.
8:24 AM, July 14, 2009
Is he too old?
Vieira will be like a 16 year kid on the training ground when he sees lennon for the first time. He will be running all over the place, thinkig Christmas has come early.. While kissing the badge, telling the reporters how he supported SPURS as a kid.
8:56 AM, July 14, 2009
Ok so we are getting an experienced European player who can perform ion the EPL on a pay as you play basis? Wheres the harm if nothing else he'll inspire the youngsters and will add much needed grit in the centre!!
9:54 AM, July 14, 2009
oh come on....!
he has had champions league experience!
it may need a mindshift because he was a goon.....
so??
we need to move up a notch and this guy does have
a t shirt or two
..tenacity with palacios !
would silence a few i reckon
11:17 AM, July 14, 2009
lol watch how he's not fit or able to play away and then turns up at the emirates to watch his favourite team play.
This transfer wont happen but if it did no doubt it would have to involve a very decent sign on fee.
12:14 PM, July 14, 2009
Use Jenas in a make weight for the deal jenas who can run for 105 mins up and down the park no wonder the italians want him i think we will end up with egg on our faces keep Jenas for christ sake
4:24 PM, July 14, 2009
He barely played last season and seems constantly plagued with injuries these days.
Even if he hadn't played for Arsenal, I'm not sure I'd want him.
5:36 PM, July 14, 2009
Maradona has found his boots and has signed for Spurs
6:54 PM, July 14, 2009
Im afraid its true Viera is signing all over the Italian press, and hes even confirmed this in a statement (im Italian) - will be tied up by the 22nd. Oh my god what are we doing.................
10:04 PM, July 14, 2009
Italian sports paper, the Corriere dello Sport and other Italian sources have announced that "Patrick Vieira will sign a 12 month contract with Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur FC, by July 22nd".
The Italian radio stations have also run the story stating that "Vieira has announced that he will be leaving Milan and returning to London to play for Tottenham Hotspur".
"Vieira also has an option to sign for Fulham, but has decided to move to Tottenham Hotspur as he is personal friends with the Tottenham Hotspur head coach, Harry Redknapp", added the radio station.
10:07 PM, July 14, 2009
This is the only way we can keep players happy no young star will si on the bench figo beckham will viera will show the likes of tom huddlestone the way to dominate a game and bring him to his next level .Hudds looks super fit in the pre season picks and i expect him to have a brilliant season starting at wembley aginst barca
11:36 PM, July 14, 2009
Who said "I don't care how good he will make us, I don't want him at our club" that has to be the DUMMMMMMMEST thing I've EVER heard.. If you're a fan, you should FIRST AND FORMOST want you club to be as good as it can, and you should want your club to do ANYTHING (leagal) to get better every day. If that means getting a player (legend, might I add) from a rival, than we should. He wants to play for us, he is a leader like (allmost) none other... PLUSS can you imagine the goonerfaces when "Vieira's Spurs" kick Ar5ena1 out of the top 4.
