Bassong Official

As I said back in June and earlier today.

A rather less terse statement than the Offical site had used yesterday.

"We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Newcastle United for the transfer of Sebastien Bassong to the Club, following the player successfully completing a medical examination and agreeing personal terms.

The defender moved to St James' Park in July 2008 from Metz where he made 79 appearances in three seasons.

The 23-year-old played 34 times for Newcastle last season in his debut campaign in the Premier League."

Now, to get his two game suspension out of the way.

I believe it is two - well so say Sky. Yes, I was surprised we did not wait until after the weekend to file the paperwork and thus one of his suspensions would be out of the way.

it's definitely one game to go - check the FA website rather than believe what Sky Sports says! I'm also surprised we've finalised it before Saturday as no loss to anyone in waiting. Maybe if we don't file the forms with the FA before the weekend he remains a Newcastle player on Saturday and the ban gets wiped out?

Yep, you're right - Bassong served the first match ban against Vile last season so one to go.

I am confuess, so he will be available for the Liverpool game? very odd to suspend for 2 matches for a red card rather than 3.
