New Badge Launched

Well what do you think? I like it and I think the club has done a good job overall in the re-design. It is a shame they have dropped the crest as it has been with the club for 50 years but with the desire to copyright everything in a quest for more profits I suppose it had to go as well. My earlier post was completely wrong regarding the ball which is a good thing and it is more traditional than maybe the badge we will use until the end of the season. It is just a shame that they have abandoned the Latin Audere est Facere for to Dare is to Do as I think the Latin was better.

COYS!

Yeah - I pretty much agree - shame to lose the Latin, but overall I like it. Strong image to wear with pride.

In the world of marketing, this is a cash generator & that can only be a good thing.
It looks good & with the new kit image thats doing the rounds. I think it will look fantastic.

I hope they've "dropped the ball" with the new kit & offer us another skin tight number.

I think its great! Especially about the fact that on the shirts it will just be the ball and the cockrell. Typical Ardiles style ;)

I can c the rest of Europe digging it out also. Its a modern/cool/retro badge. Great on a plain white shirt. Cant wait to see it!

Its a shame about the Latin to English, though. I guess the slogan will sell more in Engglish all around the world.

Great job!!

My thoughts exactly 6:06

Why did they have to F**k around with the badge at all.

And if they want a retro badge, go back to exactly the 70-80's badge.

No, not impressed at all, totally naff if you ask me.

regarding the ball issue...
quote

"The Ball is taken from the original Cockerel and Ball that

first sat on the roof of White Hart Lane in 1909, when former player William James Scott cast a copper centrepiece to perch on the new West Stand. Because of the style of the ball,

the design is unique to Tottenham Hotspur"

Thats good enough for me

i like the new badge. very bold will stand out well on the white shirt. i love the retro look. lets all hope it brings back the good times of the 60s and 70s,with a bit of luck...

on new players coming in i'm not too sure there will be any in this window. mj and dc have both said its hard to get big name players in at this transfer slot. but knowing spurs they might surprise us on the 11th hour!!!!! we are crying out for a left sided winger and a target man up front, lets hope for a win saturday. yid army

Liking the badge, just a bit of a shame about the latin going! Would have preferred it over the club name, but spose as others have pointed out it'll sell more without than with. All in all a good job! Hope we can keep things up on the pitch to match the new direction we seem to be going in!

Generally I like the new badge BUT why have we had to ditched the Latin Motto "Audere est Facere" Surely this is part of the essence of the club to 'Dare is to Do' reflects on the way in which we play out football as the great Bill Nicholson once said "It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low and we of Spurs have set our sights very high. So high in fact that even failure has in it an echo of glory.". If we dump the Latin we might as well dump The Cockerel or change our name to Hackney Hawks. Bring back the Latin there is plenty of room under the ball

I absolutely hate it. It looks retro and I don't live in the past. I definetely don't like the ball (it does look like a basketball) I don't care if footballs used to look like that, they don't now. I liked the slogan on the old one and I liked the cockerel with more lines in it.
