Jenas transfer rumors

Whispers over the net from Spurs Odyssey, Spurs Community and FTL are hinting that Jermaine Jenas has handed in a transfer request today. This would come as something of a shock unless the Milan rumours are true or someone is making it worth his while to stick in a request and lose his loyalty bonuses.

If it is true the timing is awful just a week away from the start of the Premier League. As it is JJ and Palacious are by far and away our strongest central midfield partnership and the thought of only having Pud and O'Horror as cover is bad enough - the idea that it is Palacious partnered by the two mentioned would be a disaster as neither can really hack the Premier League. We really should be buying a central midfielder either to provide cover for JJ or as a replacement with JJ as cover. If this is true and he does go we will need two quality central midfielders before the window closes if we are to have a decent season.

JJ has his many faults and his many critics, most because we all know he has the strength, skill, pace and talent but we don't always see it. He is extremely fit and the only box to box midfield player we have at Tottenham currently. The idea that we suddenly need another two midfield players doesn't bare thinking about.

Erm...Palacios is our only box-2-box central midfielder - have you never watched either him or JJ play before?

can't see us letting him go unless we have a replacement lined up. personally i would be happy for huddlestone to again prove what he can do given a decent run of games, with modric, o'hara, boeteng, bentley and if needs be, keane, parrett, corluka, bostock, livermore all there who could do the job for a game or two if there are injuries.

Palacious is not a box to box player - he sits in front of the back four!

Jenas has the decision making ability of a goldfish. Time and time again he gives the ball away and it's always one good game out of every ten. Also he's nowhere near strong enough on the ball. He should have been cut loose a long time ago... whilst Hud can at times look a yard or two slow, he's never really had a decent run in the team (apart from a while back when he managed 5 games or so and was actually playing quite well). He's easily one of the best passers of the ball in the league and doesn't make as many stupid decisions as Jenas... O'Hara at least wears his heart on his sleeve and whilst he may not be the polished article yet, he again doesn't seem to make as many mistakes as JJ...

If Jenas does actually hand in a transfer request I think that'd be great news. someone will come in for him, then splash out a bit for Sissoko. problem solved, (in my opinion anyway!)

If he went, we'll probably end up with Modric alongside Palacios in the centre with O'Hara on the left.

You should start his name (& sentences) with a capital though huh?
I don't believe this rumour, but if true I really wont mind if we buy someone and give them a chance instead. JJ will never get any better, and he'll never buck up his ideas and not play as if he he thinks he's better than he is. We'd need to replace him before he goes so I can't see us ever actually missing him.

JJ, like the weather -
hot or cold never constant.
Dos santos, much brighter prospect - Can play L/R attacking mid(further forward for Mexico) should be in more Spurs fans thoughts and clearly Harry's -let the sun shine, COYS

JJ is crap. "He has skill and talent..." My foot. He runs all over like a headless chicken (great workrate it seems) asking for the ball and then sending it right to the passer or worse sending it back to a defender. And th duffers who think he will come good - keep waiting till they carry you away in your coffins.Get rid of him.Better still offer him for free with any other signing.

Backwards, sideways, backwards Jenas is VERY POOR. I am convinced that O'Hara, Hudd, Livermore, Parrett or Bostock would all do a much better job.

i'm convinced your a fucking idiot.

most of the above you've seen no more than 90 minutes of (if that), o'hara is infuriatingly useless and if no-one can see that it is worrying. hudd doesn't fancy it and he aint good enough for me, and although the youth side of things looks promising, are they ready yet? who knows, my guess is not quite just yet.

jenas is a good player, stop knocking him and get behind him.

bassong can play centre mid when (if() woodie and King are both fit. Jenas is a consistent 6/10 but will never be a real match winner. Won't be too upset if he leaves. Have you ever heard a song about him at the lane?

Jenas is a solid player for us and for him to leave without a (better) replacement would be a disaster. Has anyone noted why he has handed in a transfer request...?? Its because Milan and Inter want him !!! Surely that tells you something.
I wish everyone would stop knocking him. He may not be top class but he is premiership class and he is the best we have got.

Hudds the man now. We can afford to let Jenas go there is plenty on the bench as good if not better. I would like to see Modric in the middle with Gio on the left.
