New Kit and Sponsor to be announced
Latest rumors flying around Glory Glory, COYS and FTL suggest that the club will announce a new kit manufacturer in a press release tomorrow. The expected kit maker will be Puma who will pay the club £20 million over four years. It is also expected that the club will announce LG as the sponsor for next season although no figures have been branded about yet.
Spurs may also tease us with a sneak peak at next seasons kit.
Keep an eye out tomorrow to see if this is true or bollocks.

It is one of the worst kept secrets of this season anyway,it has all been very much publicised all over the tabloids in the last few months that Puma and LG will pay Spurs in excess of £40 million in the next 4 seasons.
So nothing new there,well at least as it is very much expected.

Yes i have seen the new kit too, if there is a press conference tommorrow i hope that they are not spending too much money on it as we all know anyway.
The shirts are nice and not skin tight and a bit odd, i really hope that spurs fans will not be silly just because LG's logo is red.

10mil per year is cool for our transfer budget, considering we didn't spend a awful lot compared to some of our rivals.
I don't think we have a problem with transfer kitty but we need to have that CL spot.Once we are there, our transfer dealings would reach another level.
We need to operate on another financial plane; not just on the football pitch to compete with the likes of the gooners, Chelsea and Man U.
The shirt and sponsors ship deal is just a small part of the equation.We are among the top 20 richest club in the world but we have the smallest stadium capacity amongts those 20.Gooners the 2nd smallest capacity is going to jump some distance ahead next season.
If we want some real financial muscle, the stadium is the next issue.

It can't be expanded. Even if they could squeeze a few more seats in it wouldn't be enough. unlike a lot of other grounds in the league WHL is packed out every home game and very much unlike other teams it would be packed out on European nights and Mickey Mouse cup nights too. If we are going to move forward we need to go to a ground with a 60,000 capacity. They have to do it very carefullt though and the timing has to be just right. Making a move at the wrong time and investing too much money in it could be a disaster. (Please see our nomadic cousins up the road) Come on you Spurs! The Arse to lose at the weekend and Spurs to romp home 5-0. Someone has got to get a tonking from us this season!

Don't really want to leave The Lane either.
Thinking about it the West stand holds the least people in the ground and is the one stand with a bit of space behind it. One of the East/West stands at Leeds holds about 20'000 so can't see why we cant do that to the West stand and make it @ 50'000 capacity.

we should NEVER leave the lane.
these new grounds are terrible, no atmosphere, no life, no charactor.
what we should do is expand the east and west (we have bought the surrounding area by these stands) and then make the lower tiers of the park lane and the paxton terracing. there's no law against it and i hear from sources that levy would be keen to do so. it would be cheap and would generate extra revenue in the process. Imagine the atmosphere!
The only problem is, levy isnt so keen to be the 1st chairman to approve such a move.
Another stumbling block is this security lass we've got (sue someone). she knows very little and is led by the report released after hillsborough, at meetings she has apparently rubbished the idea without even considering any of the possibilities.

Certainly can't go back to terracing, in a million years.
It is a breach of the current safety standards and is illegal.
If we have bought the surrounding area outside the East stand then we could definetly build on these 2 stands as we already own the area around the West, that is up to Tottenham High Road anyway.

Guys the issue is not whether we can expand the ground it is the transport infrastructure to get people in and out. I love WHL but trying to get to the ground from Seven Sisters Station in the 1st place and back is an experience in itself never mind trying to get in and out if I bring the car. Can you imagine what it would be like with another 15-20,000 of us!
I would love us to stay at WHL but if we want to compete with the elite we are going to have to find another home I am afraid.

Agreed with 9.12am and 9.21am, Levy did think that the transport problem was the big factor.The new olympic stadium was targeted by levy but apparently his idea was shot down by the Olympic committee.

It is definately transport issues and I think Levy is calling Haringey Council's bluff, as they do not want to see all the revenue that is generated at home games go! Levy announced a couple of years ago that we have planning permission to increase the East Stand back across the road to give the Lane a total capacity of 54,000.
Surely that is better than moving as we will have a packed 54,000 and the gooners will have 20,000 sat in a 60,000 stadium!!

Also this year we had record number of season ticket holders, which had to be capped due to the volume of applications

People who want to see us move to another ground are not selling out! Nobody wants to move away from WHL in an ideal world as it's a part of our history but with the positive way things are going there is nothing stopping us from creating our own history with the current crop of players. The club is hopefully stepping into a new era now and although I would love to see WHL with a much increased capacity, if a move is needed to move the club forward then regretably it will need to be done. After all, the club moving forward and being successful is most important. I'd quite happily watch them play at the local park if it meant we'd win things. Transport is a problem already and agree with a lot of the others that a further 10-20,000 people would cripple the place on a matchday. Its not just an inconvenience, the local council wouldn't give it planning permission for safety reasons. I have renewed faith in Levy and the gang making the right decision. (I haven't had faith in a Spurs board for many years, if ever)

Yes this year we have been sold out. But this is just one year, probably since early eighties.
If you dont remember, improving 'just one stand' almost bancrupted THFC late eighties/early nineties.
Improve bit by bit. Walk before you can run etc. Look at Leeds/Newcastle... heavy investment from finite funds is stupidity.
Record season ticket sals we may have had but the numbers are still small compared to many other PL teams.
Dont get me wrong, I love spurs and have been a season ticket holder for many years.
We have sound financial management at spurs finally, so lets channel funds into the team, win some trophies first.
Arsenal were selling out many years ago with not a chance of gettign tickets, only finally after a decade of success did they invest in a new stadium. Im not saying leave it that long, but for chrisssakes we havnt even qualifies for the UEFA cup yet.

Good to see an interesting discussion on this site.
Personally I'm no romantic and would happily see us move as long as it's within 'Spurs' territory ie Picketts Lock and not wemberly or east london. The hub of Spurs fandom is north of Tottenham as far as I'm aware. The local council aren't interested in paying for a transport upgrade just for a football club and the immediate gentrefication of N17 isn't exactly on the cards if you know what I mean. I can't imagine the sort of stadium we need could be built on the current site. Having said all that I'm with 9.40am in general. Lets make this a top notch team before dreaming of a top notch stadium.

there really are some retards on this site, first of all if you took the pillars out of the stand it would collapse, the deals with puma and LG have yet to be finalised and the kit circulating was a fake, anyone who has photoshop could have mastered that!! just look at the badge on the shirt, its not even our new logo!! and LG has just been pasted from a webpage. LG has not gone bankrupt, they are owned by Philips and are becoming one of the biggest electronic companies in the world. Planning permission has been granted to rebuild the east stand, with a capacity of 50-55,000, and like many of you have pointed out Levy is holding the council to ransom and saying if you dont improve transport we are leaving!! im all for the olympic stadium myself, there will be a repilca track right next to the stadium, lets build the BOA a small stadium 25000 for athletics around that track and then we get the big one.... 70,000, look at mancity, they have one of the best atmospheres in the prem, we could do better!

To those who oppose the idea of bigger stadium and have no faith in Levy; if you think you can outthought him, have better vision than him, have a better academic qualification than him,or most importantly, more dosh than him run for Chairman of Tottenham Hotspurs ?
If you have not known yet, the stadium issue is almost his pet project. He deemed it so important for the progress of this club.

How can it me "silly" to take umbridge aginst the horrendous red/pink logo of the current kit sponsor. We all know the home shirt looks daft and with a putid -blue away kit Spurs are losing potential revenue from any discerning fan. Its not difficult. Keep it navy and white and avoid red. Nuff said.

Capacity currently estimated at 70,00. we could run amok in gaff like that! We consistantly sell out our season tickets and the entire ground. Stratford Schmatford, but for chrissakes, have glory will travel ought be our motto.
I love getting off the tube @ Seven Sisters and the walk up to the ground, but previous comments are right, the area is a public toilet without a door.
