Scum Vs. Tottenham Hotspur

This is it, the biggest game of the season. 4 points ahead, Arsenal have one game in hand. While a win would be fantastic this is a must NOT LOSE game! If we take a point or all three then we have enough in us to put away Bolton and West Ham to take the fourth spot. Lose though and I think the nomads will nick it from us at the death. That is when the draws with Sunderland, West Ham, loss to Fulham etc will really come home to roost.

I feel Davids must play tomorrow. Although performances have been patchy of late he had a good game against United and is a big game player. He is also not afraid to put it about a bit either and while we don't want any red cards we all know the way to play against the scum. Get stuck in. Simple as that. Pressurise the ball, challenge hard and the scum players disappear. They hate having a fight on their hands as been seen numerous times this season. Sit back however and let them play their game and they could murder any team, especially at the shit hole.

So I would start with Robinson in goal with Stalteri, Dawson, Davenport and Lee along the back. It is clear we will miss King but apart from the school boy error on Lee's part on Monday the back four performed well against United. Carrick will play in the centre with Jenas and Davids. Lennon will probably feature on the right and will be a valuable asset as long as we can get the ball in front of him so he can attack the full back. If we can't Lennon can become isolated so maybe Tainio (if fit) may start ahead of him giving us a strong, tough midfield, although we will lack width. Mido may be fit but only deserves to be on the bench so I would continue with Defoe and Keane up front forcing us to play it along the floor which could cause the lumbering back four of the nomads a few problems. It also allows Keane to drop deep if we need to pack the midfield. I also fancy that Defoe could well hit the target after coming close in previous games - it would be fantastic if he smashed in the winner!

So we know what to do - Spurs - step up to the mark and put the scum away!

COYS!.. P.s. I'm going :-)

COYS! COYS! COYS! COYS! COYS! COYS! COYS!

"the lumbering back four of the nomads"

The same lumbering back four that have not let a goal in in 9 in europe against such minnows as Juventus, Villarreal and Ream Madrid? We are kidding ourselves here if we think we are going to get anything against them.

So lets have an intelligent, educated, eloquent discussion about football shall we ?

Fact: Arsenal have been dominant in London since 1985.

Fact: Spurs have not qualified for Europe through their league position for about 20 years

Fact; In that time Arsenal have won the league FIVE times and the F A Cup FIVE times

Fact: In that time Spurs have won the League 0 times ( last one in 1962 )and the F A Cup Once

Fact: Arsenal have qualified for europe in all but 2 of the last 20 seasons.

Fact: Spurs have qualified for Europe only twice in the last 20 seasons.

Fact: Arsenal have qualified for the Champions league in 8 consecutive seasons as Champions or as runners up.

Fact: We have been top scorers in North London for the last 16 seasons

Fact : Arsenal have had the best defence in North London for the last 15 seasons

Fact: Arsenal command the highest viewing figures around the world after Manchester United and Liverpool.

Fact: Spurs are 17th in that league

Fact: Arsenal fans have won the fair play award for fans behaviour in 2 of
the last 5 seasons.

Fact: Spurs have never been in the top 10 in that category.

Fact: Arsenal have won the top entertaimnment award judged by Carling Opta in 7 of the last 10 seasons.

Fact: Spurs have only been as high as 5th in that category in 10 years.

Opinion: Arsenal have the best array of young talent under the age of 20 at any club in the U K including the prodigious talent of Theo Walcott who chose ARSENAL ahead of Chelsea and Man Utd. Spurs were not considered.
Arsenal have according to top dutch experts the best young talent to come out of Holland since Van Basten in Robin Van Persie
Arsenal have in Kolo Toure one of the 3 best centre backs in the world after Terry, and Nesta according to Paolo Maldini.
Arsenal have the best teenage midfielder in the world in Cesc Fabregas according to Michel Platini.

Arsenal have the best footballer from Europe in Thierry Henry AND HE IS STAYING. ( you read it here first )

Arsenal have lost Cole Campbell and Lauren who were the basis of the best defence in the league when they won the title in 2004 and been forced to replace them with a rookie Swiss teenager Senderos, a converted right midfielder at left back in Flamini and an unknown 19 year old at right back in Eboue. Together they have gone an astonishing 9 games or 810 plus minutes without conceding a goal against world class strikers playing for Ajax Juvenus Real Madrid and Villareal.

We are moving to a state of the art, magnificent, luxury 60,000 seat stadium which will go only a small way to cope with our huge support which is according to Premier league statistics the largest in the Premiership after Man United and Liverpool. Spurs by the way are 6th.

We have the most coveted manager in Europe who has been approached by at least 19 top clubs around Europe and by 27 national football associations to run their international teams.

Why on earth do Spurs fans feel confident of overtaking Arsenal with a squad of admittedly good young english players in jenas, carrick.defoe (remenber him) lennon. dawson, davnport, an ageing former world star in Davids who is past his best and only one true class player in King .

Jol has worked wonders developing a spirit at the club which even the most die hard spurs fan will admit has been missing for years.

ARSENAL WILL REMAIN TOP DOGS IN NORTH LONDON FOR ALL THESE REASONS AND MORE SO GET USED TO IT...

PLEASE DISCUSS SENSIBLY AND PLEASE TRY WITHOUT RESORTING TO FOUL AND ABUSIVE LANGUAGE

Dear Mr Gooner,

Thanks for all your stats to point out that yes Arsenal have been the dominant force over the last 15 years. However you might remember that we nearly went bust around the time we won the FA Cup and stuffed you Gipos in 1991. It takes YEARS for teams to recover from such adversity, look at Leeds and Bradford. Yet we still somehow stayed in the top flight. Then we had a succession of shit decisions on managers chosen by a board that i will always be grateful to for saving my beloved Spurs, but in all honesty were not footbal men and listened and went with names rather than sense (Gross, Ardiles, Francis, Graham (why!) and then Hoddle (i actually thought this one may have worked out but alas no) Now we have Jol, we have an English backbone that our fans can relate to (unlike your completely foreign team, and i suppose you were happy when sven got the job for england) and we are gaining momentumm again at long last...

So when you like at it from our perspective, its not quite as rosy as you have had it.

Lets face it you have been lucky enough to have had 2 super strikers in the last 15 years that have been the difference for you in Wright and Henry, and the best manager in football. Where would you have been/be without them? So enjoy it, nothing lasts forever and be very very aware that we are com9ing for you!!!

I think todays game will be close, 1-1 result, we keep 4th place, watch you lose in Spain 2-0 (that is not over believe me), and enjoy the shift in power that is slowly occurring when we finally get back into Europe!!

Take heart my fellow YIDS, dont let that Gooner twat get you down, remember where we have came from and what way we are going now, which is up!!!

Thank you ... At last a spurs fan with the ability to correspond without resorting to foul chat.

I agree with all that you have said except that the our success has only been down to Wright and Henry. You seemto have forgotten about bergkamp, overmars smith merson limpar pires ljunberg vieira petit edu and a host of world class defenders to numerous to mention.
Honestly I am glad that as our nearest rivals you have managed to regroup and challenge us. We hate Chelsea but will always see YOU as our most bitter and fierce rivals.

2-0 to the red machine today and

1.0 to the red machine on tuesday.

Looking forward to the battle today.

Are you ??

just what the fuck are u doing on our blogsite ?
are yours so shit you have to read up on your arch rivals ?
edu - world class ? dont make me laugh.
yeah, youve had a few good years, and we've been in your shadow for far too long. what my learned friend is saying is the tide is turning !
we've had our own world class players over the years - hoddle, gazza, ginola, mabbutt, waddle, lineker, king, robinson, carrick, davids, dawson, keane, klinsmann, defoe. what a team they would make all together.
do i need to go on ?
todays game i seriously think, will be the day the mighty cockerel crows once more and shits all over your foreign legion.
with a bit of luck, the crowing cockerel will swoop down and eat the sodding squirrel for lunch at half time as well !!!
bring it on

Hate to admit it but the gooner has a point. We have flattered to deceive so often over the years, only to be let down by a useless board/ manager/players in yet another false dawn. I just hope that this season hasn't been a flash in the pan, as in previous seasons with the likes of Everton, Newcastle, Ipswich etc. punching above thier wight.

We might as well pack up and go home. We thought we had a great season? we thought the scum was in decline? they still topped us, they're still in the european cup final (no doubt to win it, lucky sods) Forget the food poison bit. We failed against such wonderful teams as Villa and Sunderland, we havn't beaten any of the top 4 this season. We have the unenviable record of the lowest ever games for a premiership club (after losing to Leicester and Grimsby in the first round of the 2 domestic cups). We have spent a fortune on so called best of English talent. Lets face it, we're crap. Sack the board. Sack Jol. Oh, misery
